Abstract

ABSTRAKPermasalahan dalam pengembangan tembakau rakyat adalah dayaberkecambah benih yang rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmengetahui pengaruh perendaman benih terhadap daya berkecambahbenih tembakau (Nicotiana tabacum L.). Penelitian dilaksanakan dilaboratorium Balai Penelitian Tanaman Pemanis dan Serat pada bulan Meisampai dengan Juli 2013. Perlakuan disusun dalam rancangan petakterbagi dan diulang empat kali. Sebagai petak utama adalah tujuh varietastembakau lokal, yaitu V1 = Kemloko1; V2 = Kemloko2; V3 = Kemloko3;V4 = Kasturi1; V5 = Kasturi2; V6 = Grompol Jatim1; dan V7 =Bojonegoro1. Sebagai anak petak adalah: R1 = Tanpa perendaman(kontrol); R2 = perendaman selama satu jam dalam air; R3 = perendamanselama satu jam dalam larutan KNO 3  (0,1%), dan R4 = perendamanselama satu jam dalam larutan KNO 3 (0,2%). Setelah perlakuanperendaman, benih tembakau dikecambahkan menggunakan metode Uji diAtas Kertas. Pada setiap ulangan, sebanyak 100 benih tembakaudikecambahkan pada media kertas merang yang diletakkan di dalampetridish berdiameter 9 cm. Perkecambahan dilakukan di dalamgerminator tipe IPB dengan suhu 23 o C dan kelembaban nisbi 87-93%.Parameter yang diamati adalah daya berkecambah, panjang kecambah,panjang akar kecambah, dan indeks vigor kecambah. Perendaman benihtembakau menggunakan air, larutan KNO 3 0,1% dan larutan KNO 3 0,2%selama satu jam sebelum benih disemaikan, dapat meningkatkan dayaberkecambah dan panjang kecambah varietas Kemloko1 dan GrompolJatim1. Perlakuan perendaman benih dengan air berpengaruh positif padavarietas Kemloko1 yang ditunjukkan dengan daya berkecambah tertinggi,sedangkan perendaman dengan larutan KNO 3 0,2% berpengaruh negatifpada varietas Bojonegoro1 yang ditunjukkan dengan daya berkecambahpaling rendah. Perlakuan perendaman dengan air maupun larutan KNO 3(0,1% dan 0,2%) menunjukkan pengaruh yang berbeda-beda terhadapparameter daya berkecambah, panjang kecambah, panjang akar kecambah,dan indeks vigor kecambah pada semua varietas tembakau yang diuji.Kata kunci: Nicotiana tabacum L., perendaman, KNO 3 , viabilitas benihABSTRACTLow germinability of seeds is one of major problems in tobaccodevelopment. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of primingon tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) seed viability. The research wasconducted in the laboratory of the Indonesian Sweeteners and Fiber CropsResearch Institute during May to July 2013. The treatments were arrangedin a split plot design with four times of replication. The main plots wereseven tobacco varieties namely V1 = Kemloko1; V2 = Kemloko2; V3 =Kemloko3; V4 = Kasturi1; V5 = Kasturi2; V6 = Grompol Jatim1; and V7= Bojonegoro1. The subplots were priming seeds for one hour namely R1= without priming (control); R2 = priming for one hour on water; R3 =priming for one hour on KNO 3  (0,1%) solution, and R4 = priming for onehour on KNO 3 (0,2%) solution. After priming, seeds were germinated usingthe Upper Paper Test method. A hundred of seeds were sown on strawpaper media in a petridish diameter 9 cm of each replication. Parametersmeasured were germination percentage, shoot and root length, andseedling vigor index. Priming tobacco seed with water or KNO 3  (0.1 and0.2%) solution for one hour before seeds were germinated significantlyimproved germination percentage and shoot length of Kemloko1 andGrompol Jatim1 varieties. Priming tobacco seed with water had positiveeffect on Kemloko1 variety which resulted the highest germinationpercentage but had adversely effect on Bojonegoro1 variety which resultedthe lowest germination percentage. Priming tobacco seeds with water orKNO 3 (0.1 and 0.2%) solution resulted different effect on germinationpercentage, shoot and root length, and seedling vigor index parameters forall tobacco varieties were observed.Key words: Nicotiana tabacum L., priming, KNO 3 , seed viability

Abstract

The effectiveness of Instagram promotion lies in its visual appeal, utilizing photos and videos in a grid format known as a feed. Creating attention-grabbing and promotional content on Instagram involves crafting visually creative, informative, and attractive feed content. Zaqiku Coffee, based in Mojokerto, employs Instagram as an online promotional platform. However, the existing design appears unattractive, impacting the insight and engagement on Zaqiku Coffee's Instagram. This research aims to enhance promotional media through Instagram feeds using Canva Pro, focusing on producing designs that are both creative and informative to attract attention.Implemented through the Action Research method, the study follows a series of procedures: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection involves observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires, with 25 respondents comprising the business owner, marketing and design experts, and customers. The EPIC method is employed to gauge design effectiveness, considering Empathy, Persuasion, Impact, and Communication. The study underwent two cycles, yielding an EPIC Rate value of 4.56. This indicates a unanimous agreement among respondents that the Instagram feed design proves highly effective as a promotional medium for Zaqiku Coffee. In conclusion, the research establishes that the Instagram feed design is not only effective but also viable for promoting Zaqiku Coffee. Moving forward, it is recommended that Zaqiku Coffee continues to develop innovative and creative designs for its Instagram feed, enhancing overall promotional strategies.
