Abstract

Permasalahan pembelajaran IPA di SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja adalah rendahnya hasil belajar IPA pada siswa kelas VIII. Penelitan ini bertujuan 1) mendeskripsikan hasil belajar IPA siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Snowball Throwing berbantuan multimedia interaktif, 2) mendeskripsikan hasil belajar IPA siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran konvensional, dan 3) mengetahui perbedaan yang signifikan hasil belajar IPA antara siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Snowball Throwing berbantuan multimedia interaktif dengan siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran konvensional di kelas VIII semester genap tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 di SMPN 2 Singaraja. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dan menggunakan rancangan Posttest-Only Control Design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh kelas VIII SMPN 2 Singaraja yang berjumlah 588 orang dengan sampel kelas VIII.12 dan VIII.14. Data yang dikumpulkan adalah hasil belajar siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes objektif. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial (uji-t). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) hasil belajar IPA siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Snowball Throwing berbantuan multimedia interaktif menunjukkan skor rata-rata 24,96 berada pada kategori sangat tinggi, (2) hasil belajar IPA siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran konvensional menunjukkan skor rata-rata 16,39 berada pada kategori sedang, (3) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan hasil belajar IPA antara kelompok siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran koperatif tipe Snowball Throwing berbantuan multimedia interaktif dengan kelompok siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional (thitung = 10,645 > ttabel = 1,665). Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Snowball Throwing berbantuan multimedia interaktif berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA kelas VIII semester genap tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 di SMPN 2 Singraja. Kata Kunci : snowball throwing, multimedia interaktif, hasil belajar The problem faced in learning IPA in SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja was the lowliness of eigthth grade students’ learning outcomes. This study was aimed 1) to describe the learning outcomes on IPA of students who given cooperative learning model especially Snowball Throwing technique combined with interactive multimedia, 2) to describe the students’ learning outcomes on IPA of students who given conventional technique, 3) to investigate the significant difference of the learning outcomes of IPA between students who are taught by Snowball Throwing technique combined with interactive multimedia and conventional technique on eighth grade students in SMPN 2 Singaraja academic year 2014/2015. This study was quasy experiment with Posttest-Only Control Design. The samples were VIII.12 and VIII.14. The population was eighth grade students which included 588 students. The data gathered was students learning outcomes. The instrument used was objective test. The data was analyzed with descriptive statistic and inferential statistic using t-test. The result of the study showed 1) the students learning outcomes on IPA who were taught by Snowball Throwing technique combined with interactive multimedia had the mean score 24.96 which was on highest category, 2) the students’ learning outcomes on IPA who are taught by conventional technique had the mean score 16.39 which was on average category, 3) there was a significant difference on students’ learning outcomes on IPA between students who are taught by Snowball Throwing technique combined with interactive multimedia and conventional technique where the tobserved (10.645) was higher than tcritical value (1.665). It concluded that Snowball Throwing technique combined with interactive multimedia had significant effect on eighth students’ learning outcomes on IPA in SMPN 2 Singaraja in academic year 2014/2015.keyword : snowball throwing, interactive multimedia, learning outcomes
