Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused the learning and various activities ofstudents in Islamic boarding schools to be stopped. The spread of new Covid-19clusters in Islamic boarding schools, as well as problems with the quality of cleanlinessand environmental health in Islamic boarding schools prior to the pandemic, are ofparticular concern when plans for adopting new habits and Face-to-face Learningwill be carried out in Islamic boarding schools. The research aims to find out how thecondition of knowledge, attitudes, and clean and healthy living behavior of students inIslamic boarding schools; how the influence of knowledge and attitudes of studentson the behavior of clean and healthy life of students; and how clean and healthy livingbehavior is implemented in adopting new habits in Islamic boarding schools. Theresearch was conducted at Islamic Boarding Schools X and Y in Tasikmalaya with amixed-method, namely using quantitative methods with questionnaires and alsoqualitative methods with interviews and literature studies. The results showed that theknowledge index of attitudes and behavior of students was 79.54 (good), the resultsof the correlation test showed that there was a relationship between knowledgeand attitudes and behavior of students related to clean and healthy living behavior.Adaptation of new habits in Islamic boarding schools can be done by paying attentionto internal factors from students in the form of understanding the Covid-19 pandemic,the availability of health facilities and facilities, as well as support factors from boardingschool caregivers and parents. AbstrakPandemi Covid-19 telah menyebabkan pembelajaran dan berbagai aktivitassantri di pesantren dihentikan. Adanya penyebaran klaster baru Covid-19 di pesantrendan juga permasalahan kualitas kebersihan dan kesehatan lingkungan di pesantrensebelum adanya pandemi menjadi perhatian khusus saat rencana adaptasi kebiasaanbaru dan pembelajaran tatap muka akan dilakukan di pesantren. Penelitian bertujuanuntuk mengetahui bagaimana kondisi pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku hidup bersihdan sehat (PHBS) santri di pesantren, bagaimana pengaruh pengetahuan dan sikapsantri terhadap PHBS santri, dan diimplementasikan dalam adaptasi kebiasaan barudi pesantren. Penelitian dilakukan di Pesantren X dan Y di Tasikmalaya dengan mixedmethod, yaitu menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan perangkat kuesioner dan juga kualitatif dengan wawancara dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa indeks pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku santri sebesar 79,54 (baik), hasil uji korelasi menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara pengetahuan dan sikap dengan perilaku santri terkait PHBS. Adaptasi kebiasaan baru di pesantren dapat dilakukan dengan memperhatikan faktor internal dari santri berupa pemahaman akan pandemi Covid-19, faktor ketersediaan fasilitas dan sarana kesehatan, serta faktor dukungan dari pengasuh pondok dan orangtua.

Abstract

The quality of the environment and basic needs of the community as long as it is a matter of concern and need to be improved. This study aims to measure the effect of environmental quality on the fulfillment of basic needs. Mixed methods of Quantitative (with questionnaires) and qualitative (by interview) are conducted in data collection and analysis. The results showed that all environmental quality indexes were correlated with the fulfillment of basic needs, except for the biodiversity index. Based on the correlation test it is found that all environmental quality index have positive effect on the fulfillment of basic needs. This means, if there is an increase in air quality, water quality, land cover, biodiversity, public health, and environmental health then the fulfillment of basic needs will increase, and vice versa. The air quality index and land cover have the largest constants among the other indices. Thus, an increase of that value will have a greater impact on the increase in basic compliance, and vice versa. Kualitas lingkungan dan kebutuhan dasar masyarakat selama ini merupakan hal yang menjadi perhatian dan perlu terus ditingkatkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur pengaruh kualitas lingkungan terhadap pemenuhan kebutuhan dasar. Metode gabungan kuantitatif (dengan penyebaran kuesioner) dan kualitatif (dengan wawancara) dilakukan dalam pengumpulan dan analisis data. Hasil penelitian di Provinsi Banten menunjukkan bahwa semua indeks kualitas lingkungan berkorelasi dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan dasar, kecuali indeks keanekaragaman hayati. Berdasarkan uji korelasi didapatkan bahwa semua indeks kualitas lingkungan berpengaruh positif terhadap pemenuhan kebutuhan dasar. Hal ini berarti, apabila terjadi kenaikan kualitas udara, kualitas air, tutupan lahan, keanekaragaman hayati, kesehatan masyarakat, dan kesehatan lingkungan maka pemenuhan kebutuhan dasar akan meningkat, begitu juga sebaliknya. Indeks kualitas udara dan tutupan lahan mempunyai konstanta yang paling besar diantara indeks lainnya. Dengan demikian, kenaikan dari nilai tersebut akan berdampak lebih besar pada kenaikan pemenuhan dasar, demikian juga sebaliknya.

Abstract

Various disasters that often happen in Indonesia have caused various disadvantages and catastrophes for the victims and disaster survivors. This paper aims to examine the fulfillment of basic environmental health needs for disaster survivors in Riau and Central Java Provinces. Questionnaires and interviews were distributed to various stakeholders in both provinces. The disaster that often struck Riau Province is the smoke haze caused by land and forest fires. While Central Java Province has a high index of disaster vulnerability, with high-frequency occurrence of flood, landslide, drought and abrasion/tides on the beach among others. The results showed that respondents thought that the needs of the disaster survivors have been met. Similarly, basic compliance indicators such as clothing, food, clean water and sanitation, healthfull met or at least partly met care, psychosocial services, and shelter have also been fully met or at least partly met. Likewise, various government programs and community participation have been undertaken to ensure that disaster survivors have received satisfactory assistance in terms of environmental health.Berbagai kejadian bencana yang kerap terjadi di Indonesia telah menimbulkan berbagai kerugian dan malapetaka bagi para korban dan penyintas bencana. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menelaah pemenuhan kebutuhan dasar bidang kesehatan lingkungan bagi para penyintas bencana di Provinsi Riau dan Jawa Tengah. Penyebaran kuesioner dan wawancara dilakukan kepada berbagai stakeholder di kedua provinsi tersebut. Bencana yang kerap melanda Provinsi Riau adalah kabut asap yang disebabkan kebakaran lahan dan hutan. Sedangkan Provinsi Jawa Tengah mempunyai indeks kerawanan bencana yang tinggi dan bencana dengan frekuensi kejadian yang tinggi seperti: banjir, longsor, kekeringan, dan abrasi/gelombang pasang di pantai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa responden beranggapan pemenuhan kebutuhan bagi para penyintas bencana telah dilakukan dengan baik. Begitu juga indikator pemenuhan dasar seperti sandang, pangan, kebutuhan air bersih, dan sanitasi, pelayan kesehatan, pelayanan psikososial dan penampungan serta tempat hunian telah dipenuhi dengan baik atau minimal cukup baik. Berbagai program pemerintah dan partisipasi masyarakat juga telah dilakukan untuk memastikan bahwa para penyintas bencana telah mendapatkan pemenuhan kebutuhan di bidang kesehatan lingkungan dengan baik.

Abstract

Provision of quality housing and settlements is the basic right mandated by the Constitution. The enactment of Law No. 1 of 2011 on Housing and Settlements Area is the legal basis of housing maintenance and settlement areas in Indonesia. The concept of eco-settlement is a concept of ecologically developed from the concept of sustainable development. The concept harmonized the three pillars, namely social, economic, and ecological sustainability supported by established institution. Related to the concept of ecosettlement, the Law on Housing and Settlements Area accommodates several parameters in the concept, but some issues such as healthy and environmental friendly housing criteria, community education, community participation and institutional strengthening to be arranged in a more detailed regulations.

Abstract

South Sumatera Province, with Palembang as its capital, was formerly an area with abundant water resources due to the many rivers that cross the region. But now the area is often lacking clean water because of the declining capacity of the environment and pollution of the river. This paper aims to examine the water quality of the river in Palembang linked to the health of the community, and also to find out the perception of the people who live along the rivers in the utilization of clean water. Quantitative methods used by distributing questionnaires to people living along the rivers in Palembang. Results of some research from various sources and papers showed that the pollution level in the Musi River and some tributaries have caused declining potential of clean water in the area. Another effect is the reduced level of public health with a variety of environmentbased diseases. Results of the questionnaire showed that the river water is no longer worthy of use as a source of clean water, either as a source of drinking, cooking, or washing perceived people. The community considers that improving the quality of the river and community participation in the management of the river is a thing that needs to be done.  Provinsi Sumatera Selatan dengan ibukota provinsinya Palembang semula adalah daerah dengan sumber air yang melimpah karena banyaknya sungai yang melintasi wilayah tersebut. Namun kini daerah tersebut kerap mengalami kesulitan air bersih karena menurunnya daya dukung lingkungan dan pencemaran sungai. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menelaah kualitas air sungai di Palembang dihubungkan dengan derajat kesehatan masyarakat, dan juga untuk mengetahui persepsi masyarakat yang tinggal di pinggir sungai dalam pemanfaatan air bersih. Metoda kuantitatif dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada masyarakat yang tinggal di pinggir sungai di Palembang. Hasil telaahan dari berbagai sumber menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pencemaran di Sungai Musi dan beberapa anak sungainya telah menyebabkan potensi air bersih di daerah tersebut berkurang. Dampak lainnya adalah menurunnya derajat kesehatan masyarakat dengan timbulnya berbagai penyakit berbasis lingkungan. Hasil kuesioner menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat mempersepsikan air sungai sudah tidak layak lagi digunakan sebagai sumber air bersih, baik itu sebagai sumber air minum, memasak, mencuci dan sebagainya. Masyarakat menganggap bahwa perbaikan kualitas sungai dan partisipasi masyarakat dalam pengelolaan sungai adalah hal yang perlu di dilakukan.

Abstract

Management of coastal and coastline is very important in Indonesia, an archipelago country with the longest coastline in the world. Moreover, conditions in some coastal areas in Indonesia have decreased the environment quality for example in the Benoa Region of Bali. This paper aims to quantify the influence of government policies and community participation on the quality of the coastal environment in Benoa Badung Bali Region in the perspective of sustainable development. The quantitative method with the questionnaire instrument was carried out in this study. The results showed that the size of the index for government policy in the Benoa Region was 67.45 (sufficient), the community participation index 78.06 (good), the water condition index 72.78 (good) and the land condition index 74.62 (good). Statistical analysis shows that there is a significant relationship between government policy and community participation in the quality of the coastal and coastal environment (r=0,541). Government policies and community participation have  positive effect on the condition of the quality of the coastal and coastal environment. Various community empowerment activities and programs and government policies in the Benoa Region, for example the Yasa Segara Pokmaswas group, the development of conservation tourism in Badung, fisheries business development have fulfilled the principles of sustainable development in terms of economic, social/community participation and the environment.AbtrakPengelolaan pesisir dan pantai sangat penting di Indonesia yang merupakan daerah kepulauan dengan garis pantai terpanjang di dunia. Terlebih kondisi di sebagian pesisir di Indonesia kualitas lingkungannya menurun seperti di Kawasan Benoa Badung Bali. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menghitung pengaruh kebijakan pemerintah dan peran serta masyarakat terhadap kualitas lingkungan pesisir di Kawasan Benoa Badung Bali. Metode kuantitatif dengan instrumen kuesioner dilakukan dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa besaran indeks untuk kebijakan pemerintah di Kawasan Benoa adalah 67,45 (cukup), indeks peran serta masyarakat 78,06 (baik), indeks kondisi perairan 72,78 (baik) dan indeks kondisi daratan 74,62 (baik). Analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kebijakan pemerintah dan peran serta masyarakat terhadap kualitas lingkungan pesisir dan pantai (r=0,541). Kebijakan pemerintah dan peran serta masyarakat berpengaruh positif terhadap kondisi kualitas lingkungan pesisir dan pantai. Berbagai kegiatan dan program pemberdayaan masyarakat dan kebijakan pemerintah di Kawasan Benoa misalnya adanya kelompok Pokmaswas Yasa Segara, pengembangan wisata konservasi di Badung, pengembangan usaha perikanan telah memenuhi prinsip-prinsip pembangunan pesisir secara terpadu dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Forest firesthat had occurred in Indonesia often caused smoke hazewhich had a negative impact not only in Indonesia but also in neighboring countries.The negative impact of the smokehaze occurred in the health sector and the environmental, economic, and transportation sectors, as well ascross-border pollution. Strategic policies to reduce these impacts were discussed with an alytical descriptive approach. The study results showed that what has been done is still a forest fire prevention efforts, not much shaped prevention.Thus the efforts and policies were still needed, including preventive conservation efforts, strengthening legal protection  adactive participation of the local government.

Abstract

Sanitation development in Indonesia refers to the Sustainable Development Goals, which in 2030 is targeted to ensure the availability and management of clean water and sustainable sanitation for all. The existence of the Covid-19 pandemic has made the clean water and sanitation sector very important in breaking the Covid-19 chain. This paper aims to describe the achievement of sanitation development targets in Indonesia and examine the empirical practice of implementing sanitation during the Covid-19 pandemic. Qualitative methods are used to assess the sanitation sector according to the sixth SDGs Target, namely: clean water and proper sanitation both before the pandemic and during the pandemic. The results of the study show that until 2019, before the pandemic, access to drinking water, wastewater, and sanitation services had been achieved quite well. However, the reduction in open defecation (BABS) and the improvement of clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) have not been optimal. When the Covid-19 pandemic consumption of clean water increases, attention to wastewater treatment increases, and there are changes in people's behavior to live cleaner lives.AbstrakPembangunan sanitasi di Indonesia mengacu pada Sustainable Development Goals di mana pada tahun 2030 ditargetkan dapat menjamin ketersediaan serta pengelolaan air bersih dan sanitasi yang berkelanjutan untuk semua. Adanya pandemi Covid-19  menjadikan sektor  air  bersih dan sanitasi sangatlah penting dalam memutus mata rantai Covid-19. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan capaian target pembangunan sanitasi di Indonesia dan mengkaji praktik empiris penyelenggaraan sanitasi pada saat pandemi Covid-19. Metoda kualitatif digunakan untuk mengkaji sektor sanitasi sesuai dengan Target SDGs keenam, yaitu: air bersih dan sanitasi layak, baik sebelum pandemi maupun saat pandemi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa hingga 2019, sebelum pandemi akses terhadap air minum, air limbah dan layanan sanitasi telah tercapai dengan cukup baik. Namun penurunan praktik Buang Air Besar Sembarangan (BABS) dan peningkatan Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS) belum optimal. Saat pandemi Covid-19 konsumsi air bersih meningkat, perhatian pada pengolahan air limbah meningkat, dan ada perubahan perilaku masyarakat untuk hidup lebih bersih.

Abstract

Waste Bank is one of many alternatives of waste management in Indonesia. Malang Waste Bank (Bank Sampah Malang - BSM) is a sample of Waste Bank that has been well established and widely used as a pilot project. This research conducted with qualitative method to analyse the effectiveness of waste management in BSM from the waste management perspective. From institutional perspective, cooperative system is considered to be quite effective in making BSM independent and self-sufficient. There are still many obstacles experienced in terms of financing, while in terms of regulation, a regulatory support is necessary to strengthen the performance of BSM. To date, public participation play significant role, although it has not been at its best. This is because knowledge and understanding on waste bank are not evenly distributed. Operational technique aspect has been carried out effectively, although location is still a major problem.
