Abstract

Two aspects of efficiency that should be considered in applying sampling design of a survey are statistical efficiency and cost efficiency. Efficiency in statistical aspect improves precision of estimators obtained by the survey data, whereas efficiency in cost aspect provides an economic survey. The purpose of this researchis to evaluate the both efficiencies in all possible census blocks (CBs) sample setand to identify the best CBs sample set in the 2015 National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas). Therefore, a computer program for calculating statistical, and cost efficiency aspects was developed in this research to determine the best sampel set of  CBs among all possible sampel set of CBs based on sampling design of the 2015 Susenas implemented in Natuna District, Kepulauan Riau Province. The best possible sample set of CBs is determinedby considering statistical efficiency aspect, cost efficiency aspect, as well as combination of those two aspects. The result showed that the best sample set of CBs on statistical efficiency aspect provided the CBs sample set having minimum value of RSE index; evaluation on cost efficiency aspect provided the best CBs sample set having minimum value of total cost esimated using the total score of accessibility index; and evaluation on both efficiency aspects provided the best CBs sample set having minimum value of RSE index and minimum value of total score of accessibility index. Keywords: sampling design, all possible samples, statistical efficiency, cost efficiency

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia in the middle of 2021 showed an increase in the number of people exposed to the corona virus and the number of deaths among Covid-19 patients. A relatively similar situation also occured in Tegal City, where the risk of death for Covid-19 patients was quite high. This study aims to identify variables that significantly affect the risk of death among Covid-19 patients based on patient medical record data in period of January to August 2021 at Kardinah Hospital, which is the education hospital and Covid-19 first-line referral hospital in Tegal City. A total of 477 patients Covid-19 hospitalization was the subject of observation in this study. The analytical method applied was survival analysis by implementing the Weibull Proportional Hazard (PH) model whose best model was based on the smallest AIC value. The results showed that the highest level of risk of death occurred in female patients who were short of breath, which was 2.9 times the risk of death experienced by female patients who were not short of breath.

Abstract

The Indonesian government has made efforts for its population to receive at least secondary education through the 12-year compulsory education program. However, not all residents in Indonesia can complete 12 years of education. This indicates the occurrence of school dropouts and affects the resilience of the population to complete education. Central Java Province is one of the provinces whose average length of schooling requires attention because it has the lowest RLS in the Western Region of Indonesia with RLS in 2022 reaching 8.38 years. This study aims to find out the general description of dropping out of school and the resilience to complete education in residents aged 7-18 years in Central Java Province in 2022 and the factors that influence it. The method used is survival analysis with data sourced from the March 2022 Susenas. The results of the research with AFT loglogistics show that gender, head of household education, head of household business field, poverty status, and area of residence have a significant effect on the resilience of the population aged 7-18 years to complete education.

Abstract

Income inequality in Indonesia in 2009-2015 fluctuated and tended to increase, especially in rural areas. Therefore, since 2015 the government has allocated village funds as an strategic effort to overcome income inequality in rural areas. Although there has been a decrease in income inequality in rural areas, the downward trend is relatively small and tends to stagnate every year. This study aims to obtain an overview of income inequality in rural areas and analyze the influence of village fund distribution supported by other economic factors on income inequality by applying panel data regression in the period 2015-2022 with a provincies analysis unit. The research results showed that village funds per capita and average number of years of schooling in rural areas have a significant negative effect on income inequality in rural areas, while the effect of poverty levels and per capita expenditure of the population in rural area is positive and significant. The government is expected to design more effective programs, such as targeted subsidies, to support income equality.

Abstract

The population aged 15-24 years has played an important role in achieving Indonesia Emas 2045 and needs to be improved through education, employment, and training. Not in Education, Employment, or Training (NEET) is an indicator that counts those who are not in education, employment or training. In the last 4 years, the highest percentage of NEETs was in rural areas, especially in 2022. This research aims to analyze the variables that affect NEETs using multilevel binary logistic regression seen from individual and household factors. The results of the study showed that 23.6 percent of the 15-24 year-olds in the Indonesian countryside are NEETs. Individual factors that influence are gender, disability, age, marital status, education, training experience, and work/employment experience. The education of the head of the household, the working status of the household, and the number of household members are the variables that affect the NEET based on household factors. It is hoped that this research will reduce the percentage of NEETs in the Indonesian countryside and improve the quality of the population towards Indonesia Emas 2045.
