Abstract

Lokasi penelitian terbagi di 4 (empat) tempat berbeda yaitu Kota Saparua, Desa Haria, Desa Paperu dan Desa Tiouw yang termasuk didalam wilayah Kecamatan Saparua, Kabupaten Maluku Tengah, Maluku.ABSTRACT Baileo houses spread across Maluku province have 2 (two) types of traditional construction systems: stage construction and no stage construction. Besides functioning as a place for holding traditional ceremonies, Baileo House is also useful as a means of deliberation for the village community. Baileo House construction uses the dominance of wood materials with manual construction techniques. The purpose of this research was to identify the types of connection forms that arise as an answer to technical problems using wood materials with manual processing techniques. The Descriptive analysis method is used to manage field data obtained and then analyzed based on each construction element which separates into the lower structure (foundations, floor beams, floors, columns, and walls) and the upper structure (roof truss and roof covering). Meanwhile, structural connections can be identified at every meeting of the construction elements like the columns and beams and the truss and roof coverings. The research location is separated into 4 (four) different places, namely Saparua City, Haria Village, Paperu Village, and Tiouw Village which are included in the Saparua District, Central Maluku Regency, Maluku.

Abstract

The house has character elements that show the style applied in the house. The character of the house can be seen in the architectural character, from the spatial and visual character. The elements composing the character of the house consist of floor plans, interiors, and facades. Beyond time, there was a change in the character of the house due to architectural developments and the needs of the residents of the house. However, there is the oldest house with the Dutch East Indies architectural style that stands till today, namely Rumah 1870 which is located in the Kayutangan Heritage Village. The purpose of this study was to determine the architectural character of Rumah in 1870. The method used was the descriptive analysis method, to obtain and analyze the data of the existing condition. The results of the study show that the architectural character of Rumah 1870 still shows the architectural style of the Dutch East Indies, although there have been changes or additions to the character of the house.
