Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the Vessel Traffic System (VTS) in Tanjung Emas is sufficient to provide benefits to users of port facilities. This research was conducted to determine whether the implementation of VTS as a form of technological advancement (science and technology) in the maritime world has been fully enjoyed by shipping service users. In obtaining data and filling out the questionnaire in this study using a sample of 60 people from the shipping office and ship crew (ABK). The research method is descriptive qualitative method and the sampling technique in this study is non-probability sampling with purposive sampling method. Based on the research results it can be concluded that VTS service users are satisfied with the services provided to vessels. The information system owned by VTS Tanjung Emas is quite effective in providing information related to shipping in Tanjung Emas. VTS gives a sizable economic role to the state through PNBP payments.

Abstract

Sanitation is one of the efforts aimed at environmental risk factors on ships to break the chain of disease transmission in order to maintain and improve public health and maritime environment. This study aimed to determine the extent of the role of the master and crew in carrying out the provisions of MARPOL 73/78, annex IV and annex V in order to maintain the cleanliness of the ship and protect the maritime environment and to know the role of the Kantor Kesehatan Pelabuhan (KKP) in terms of providing waste disposal facilities or waste to control sanitation on board. The research method in discussing this problem uses qualitative methods. The qualitative method describes part of ships by inspecting and assessing how high the level of risk that can endanger the health of passengers onboard. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that Captain has been responsible for safety, smoothness and comfort of passengers on board and all crews always maintains sanitation on board and supervision of the provision of clean water and drinking water has been carried out in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) by providing good facilities and infrastructure.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity is to provide socialization to the Juwana fishing community regarding the management of raw materials for making fishing boats in protecting the maritime environment and provide solutions to find alternative raw materials so that the vessels are in proper condition and safe to operate. This activity was held at the UPP class 3 Juwana meeting building, Pati Regency on March 20-22 2023. This community service activity was carried out through several stages including the preparation stage, field survey, activity planning, implementation in the form of counseling and evaluation. The implementation of this community service was enthusiastically welcomed by the Juana fishing community because this activity can add insight into the raw materials for shipbuilding so that people can be more careful and protect the environment
