Abstract

Biomass potency in Indonesia is very abundant both from the animal manure or plant. Agriculture and plantations waste which are abundant can be utilized as the energy source. One of them is the rice husk. This experiment used rice husk gasification method with downdraft gasifier to turn it into a combustible gas that will be burned in the combustion chamber cyclone. The advantage of gasification compared to the method of the direct combustion is cleaner burning and particulates and contaminants can be removed before burning. The cyclone fuels can produce good mixing which is suitable for gas with low calorific value. The composition of syngas produced by gasification of rice husk are H2 13,6%, CO 14,9%, CO2 12,9% dan CH4 2,3% [1]. After leaving the reactor syngas entry cyclone separator to remove moisture and contaminants, and then go to the storage tank and eventually went to cyclone fuel to be burned after mixing with air through a different inlet. After that the different value of AFR will vary to see the changes in temperature of the flame, the fire position in the combustion chamber and the flame shape. From the experimental results in AFR = 1.59 fire in the combustion chamber air beetween 1 and 2, in the AFR = 1.14 The fire in the combustion chamber in the plane 2, in AFR = 0.69 fire in the combustion chamber 3 and in the air beetween AFR = 0.27 fire outside the combustion chamber after mixing withfresh air.

Abstract

Cyclone combustor adalah alat pembakaran yang mampu melakukan pencampuran yang baik antara bahan bakar dan udara dengan memanfaatkan efek turbulensi yang ditimbulkannya, sehingga sangat sesuai digunakan untuk bahan bakar dengan nilai kalori yang rendah seperti syngas. Syngas yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah hasil dari gasifikasi sekam padi dengan komposisi H2 13,6%, CO 14,9%, CO2 12,9% dan CH4 2,3%. Dari hasil eksperimen pada AFR = 1,59 temperatur tertinggi 826 ͦ C, AFR = 1,14 temperatur tertinggi 838 ͦ C, AFR = 0,69 temperatur tertinggi 570 ͦ C.

Abstract

Keuntungan proses permesin menggunakan CNC EDM adalah bisa membentuk bentuk yang kompleks yang biasanya sulit diproduksi dengan alat CNC konvensional. Salah satu hal yang menjadi kekurangan dalam proses permesinan dengan alat ini adalah waktu setting material. Dari sini perlu dilakukan sebuah improvement dalam mensetting benda kerja pada mesin CNC EDM. Saat ini yang terjadi di lapangan yaitu setting benda kerja dilakukan di mesin, dan ini menyebabkan produktifitas kerja mesin berkurang karena waktu setting yang membuang waktu. Salah satu cara untuk meminimalkan waktu yang terbuang adalah proses setting benda kerja dilakukan di luar mesin dimana benda kerja tidak disetting pada mesin CNC EDM. Beberapa metode telah diterapkan untuk menambah waktu proses machining dan menggurangi waktu setting benda kerja tetapi dirasa masih belum maksimal. Pada paper ini telah dirancang sebuah alat preset granit yang berfungsi sebagai alat setting benda kerja diluar mesin. Dengan adanya alat ini membuat ketika proses machining di mesin sedang berlangsung, para operator bisa mensetting benda kerja dan jika proses machining selesai benda kerja baru bisa langsung dipasang pada mesin CNC EDM. Sehingga menggurangi banyak waktu setting di mesin sehingga produksi menjadi lebih efisien.

Abstract

Vibration in machine tools can be caused by many factors, one of which is the induction factor caused by cutting parameters. In this experiment, measurements of radial vibration were carried out due to spindle rotation speed, depth of cutting, and feed rate. The experiment was carried out on a Gildemeister NEF CNC lathe with S45C material using an ISO 6 Insert R16 tip ZCC-CT. Each factor has three levels and the experimental design uses a full factorial. Measurements were made using an accelerometer and the results were analyzed using ANOVA on Minitab 19. From the measurement results, it was found that the main factor causing vibration in the radial direction is the spindle rotation speed. The smallest vibration is obtained from a combination of spindle speed parameters of 795.77 rpm, depth of cut of 0.25 mm, and feed rate of 0.3 mm/rot.Keywords : vibration, radial direction, ANOVA

Abstract

Politeknik Industri ATMI is a vocational education institution that beside carrying out the educational process, ATMI has a production division that aims to carry out order-based production in order to increase the income for education funds. The products produced are custom products ordered by customers which have different process variations. The object of the research is the production processed in the lathe and milling practical section. The percentage of defective products in this division in the period January 2022 - October 2022 reach 8% higher than the specified procentage, which should not exceed 5% defects form the products produced. Problems related to product quality lead to increase production operational costs as a result of repeat production process or rework. This activity can cause loss of customers due to disappointment over poor product results. This research activity was carried out to find problems in product defects, find the root of the problem and propose improvements. All possibilities that affecting Product defects are evaluated using an affinity diagram which produces 5 parts that can be the cause of defects, namely: Humans, Materials, Processes, Equipment and Systems. These results explore further the relationship between one another using an interrelationship diagram. Tree diagrams are used to obtain factors that can be used as suggestions for improvements to the corrections of problems found. The improvement to the corrections suggestions are: Recruiting competent employees; Employee training / training; Implementation of inherent quality control; Application of SOP in production; Making clear job descriptions; Implementation of 5R and K3; Routine machine maintenance. Using a complete matrix diagram with the analysis carried out, it is obtained a sequence of possible improvements to be made in order to improve quality, namely the first is the application of inherent quality control; the second order is the application of SOP in production; third is the implementation of 5R and K3; fourth is recruiting competent employees, employee training / training or routine machine maintenance; fifth is making a clear job description.
