Abstract

The more serious problems of contemporary da'wah today align with the continued development of increasingly complex social human life, one of which is the challenge of cultural poverty. Implementing the da'wah function at least motivates the da'wah target always to try to avoid poverty. The purpose of this research is to find solutions to the problems of contemporary da'wah in terms of facing the challenges of cultural poverty experienced by people who are passive in trying, including those who face fatalistic thoughts about sustenance that has been arranged by Allah SWT so that there is no need to try to find food. The research method used is qualitative research with a library research approach. The study results show that contemporary da'wah's problems have faced various challenges and difficulties, both internally and externally. The challenge of cultural poverty finds at least four classifications of discussion: forms of cultural deprivation, the impact of cultural lack, the causes of poverty, poverty, and its alleviation strategies. Furthermore, the function of da'wah in overcoming cultural poverty will only be optimally achieved if the community realizes the importance of effort and hard work, including increasing the application of social care among fellow believers, which is very much needed in social life.

Abstract

Abstract The aim of this research is to reveal the history of Islam in France, to examine the development of Islam in France and to analyze research into da'wah in France. This research is Library Research, a primary data source from online manuscripts, manuscripts, newspapers, magazines and related books. Using critical discourse analysis by dividing three dimensions of analysis, namely text, discourse practice, and socio-cultural practice. A critical operational approach was carried out using analytical techniques which were then developed into analysis. The results of the research show that the history of the arrival of Islam in France was in 721 AD when Abdurrahman al-Ghafiki's troops from the Umayyads expanded into France via the Pyrenean mountain route, master Septimenia and then entered the master Politiers and Tours near the city of Paris. Islam developed in France due to the arrival of many migrants from outside France from Islamic countries who had lived in France for a long time. According to the 1990 population calculations, there were 614,207 from Algeria, 575,652 from Morocco, 206,336 from Tunisia, and 197,712 from Turkey, then Muslim communities were formed and shows his existence as a Muslim. The problems of Islamic da'wah in France include that France is a secular state, religion has become an individual's privacy so it is difficult to detect their religion, then marginalization and prohibition on wearing the hijab as an identity for Muslim women, local residents are afraid of terrorism and fundamentalism makes Islam increasingly isolated. Among these solutions, it is found that the most effective alternative solution is the maximal use of media by publicizing the importance of preserving the environment. The implications of this research suggest that the government of Ambon, religious leaders, and environmental stakeholders should make efforts to use media to the fullest extent and educate the public about the environment through mass media or social media. Keywords: the city of Ambon, ecological based da’wah, environmental conservation.

Abstract

Communication is essential in our lives, including communication for inter-religious harmony. The beauty of the peaceful life, post-communal conflict in Ambon city is a dream of the whole society. Through interviews with some Muslim and Christian religious leaders, this article argues that in order to establish harmony in Ambon, it would require the following steps (1) to stop the language of incitement; (2) communicate to always refrain; (3) to communicate with the language of peace, from bottom to top and vice versa; (4) engage in dialogue, open networking among adolescents, and multicultural education; (5) public space as a meeting space for the socio-cultural level must be consi–dered; (6) the management of peace itself.
