Abstract

Abstract:  The existence of the library indicates information services.  The  service  shows  two  interrelated  variables: the  provider  on  the  one  hand  and  consumers  on  the  other. Because of relation between service provider and customer satisfaction, then the service should be  increased  from time to time. Library services also needs to be improved. Increased library  services must  be  appropriated  by  it’s  responsibility  to support  education,  teaching,  research  and  community service. There is no doubt, that the library plays an important role in  the  process  of  education  and  teaching. The  frst  library becomes  an  intermediary  between  the  users  and  their information needs. Second, the library can be an information provider  on  one  side  and  can be  consulted  for  the users  in their academic activities. Third, the library can be a teacher who teaches the users the skills and strategies in managing, utilizing, and  creating  information. The  role of  the  library likes this, is named empowerment of library services

Abstract

Information and knowledge which are transformed to anyone will provide tremendous value. When someone is born in the world he has a variety of rights that should not be act, including the right to obtain information and knowledge. The existence of two elements will help an individual or a group discover the identify of the nation that can provide great benefits in the activities of their lives, wether social, political, economic, business or intellectual. In addition, it will culminate in a the highest stage of wisdom. Someone who is able to occupy these domains is believed to be the personally and socially enlightened individual.

Abstract

A skill of Information literacy for students is very important. This capability will be useful in any search activity information that students need. The development of information and communication technology can greatly support the achievement of good teaching and learning process when coupled with the information literacy skills. The information literacy capability of students and higher education are two inseparable things. Therefore students need information literacy skills to support their learning process at university. Besides that, University libraries have a big role to create the students or academic community to be the literate person. The right steps in organizing information obtained will create a responsibility and independence person. If any student has information literacy skills, no exaggeration to say that the teaching and learning process will go well, and it certainly will create a generation that is able to learn long life in his life.

Abstract

Purpose. This research aims to determine knowledge management using the SECI Model in the UIN Walisongo Library and determine the obstacles in implementing knowledge management in the UIN Walisongo Semarang Library.Methodology. This research uses qualitative research methods with data collection techniques through interviews, field observations, and documentation from the library. Researchers conducted interviews with the head of the library, librarians and several students. Data validity techniques use source triangulation and method triangulation. The data analysis techniques used are: data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions.Results and discussion. The results and discussion of this research show that, 1) Management knowledge at the UIN Walisongo Semarang Library using SECI model analysis including the socialization stage carried out in internal & external libraries, externalization stage includes writing and library service innovation, combination stage includes organizing catalogs, repositories, and documents, stages Internalization includes workshop activities, benchmarking, and seminar. 2) Barriers to implementing knowledge management in There are two factors in the UIN Walisongo library, namely factors internal and external libraries.Conclusions. UIN Walisongo Semarang Library uses the SECI model in managing knowledge (socialization, externalization, combination, internalization) but faces challenges such as diverse individual abilities, lack of librarians and no regeneration, as well as low awareness of student knowledge documentation and information literacy. The recommendations include encouraging knowledge exchange between staff, developing social media innovations to facilitate access, and contributing to library and information science studies to increase digital era literacy and maximize library services.

Abstract

Introduction. information literacy for all of the community is a condition that is predicted by the Indonesian government to be realized immediately. This achievement will create an informed society. This situation can be realized if the librarian's soul becomes the soul of the community. Therefore, two things that must be prepared are first, increasing interest in reading in the community, and second, carrying out an information literacy program.Methodology. This paper is library research. Writing analysis uses a qualitative descriptive method by capturing the fact. This study uses relevant literature to relate the research theme in formulating the problems that occur and in making final conclusions.Results and discussion. Librarians who are referred to as "guardians of knowledge", have an enlightening spirit compared to other professions. There are two guidelines that can make this enlightening soul, the first is code of ethics, and the second is the activities of the librarian's functional position. These two guidelines provide direction for librarians in carrying out sustainable activities to improve information literacy skills for the community. Many programs have been implemented to develop this information literacy program, by various librarians, but today, informed society has not created the programs yet.Conclusion. So far, this information literacy program has not realized the informed society. Information literacy programs that have been developed must not stop and must be implemented. An informed society will be formed if all levels of society reflect the librarian's spirit in life.
