Abstract

AbstractSpinach production in Indonesia is 134,159 tons with a harvest area of 45.32 ha (BPS Statistics of Holtikutra 2014 production), but it is different from the poor region itself, spinach production is 18 quintals with a land area of 1 ha. This is due to one of them by the factors of production and the perception of farmers. In this study using 30 respondents. In the Mutiara Farm group with the Purposive sampling method. the method used is by using the Logit test while production can be seen from the analysis of production factors using cob-douglass analysis. The results of this study show that the ratio 1.4 means profitable and feasible. On perception analysis shows that gender, age, education and family dependency simultaneously influence the organic spinach farming, while the partial age and family weights have no effect. In the production factor of five variables there are multicoliniarita in the land variable, while the variables of seeds, fertilizers, pest disorders and labor simultaneously affect the production of organic spinach while the partial test of seeds and labor does not significantly affect the production of organic spinach.

Abstract

Inappropriate cultivation methods and a decrease in the quality of seaweed seeds are some of the obstacles in seaweed production. Technology transfer activities through community service programs aim to provide learning to seaweed farmers on how to enrich seaweed seeds with bionic fertilizer and then cultivate them using the floating net cage method. The activity was carried out on August 24-25, 2022 at the Main Base Command Headquarters of the Indonesian Navy VII Kupang. The method used was a participatory empowerment approach involving seaweed farming communities with counseling and dissemination. Seaweed cultivation with the floating net cage method showed higher absolute growth, relative growth and daily growth rate compared to the longline method, which were 11.91 ± 0.69 g day-1, 0.032 ± 0.002 g g-1 day-1 and 3.14 ± 0.17% day -1, respectively. While in the longline method, it was 9.48±1.81 g day-1, 0.027±0.004 g g-1 day-1, and 2.65±0.43% day -1, respectively.
