Abstract

The aims of this study were in term of construct the recount text, the use of correct grammar was need to mastery by the students. In the eleventh grade of SMA Neg. 1 Tongauna, in which this study was conducted to analyze of error students’ in writing of recount text. This study was descriptive analysis method in form of qualitative research. The sources of the study were the students from eleventh grade of MIPA2 that consisted of 28 students, but the researcher only analyzed 20 students. The instrument used in this study was writing text, the students made a recount text. In collecting data, students were giving the writing test of recount text. The data of students writing text showed the types of errors that students made in recount text. From the type of errors the researcher just focused in misformatioan and misordering based on surface strategy taxonomy. In misformation errors there three types, those are regularization error, archi form, and alternating form. The types of errors made by the students were 205 errors or 101,90%, misformation were 182 errors or 90,77% with categories regularization errors were 8 errors or 3,90%, archi form 55 errors or 26,83%, and alternating form were 119 errors or 58,05%. In misordering were 23 errors or 11,22%. Based on the result of this study, the researcher concluded that the dominant errors made by the students were alternating form of misformation as a highest level of the errors.

Abstract

Cooperative script adalah metode pembelajaran dimana siswa bekerja secara berpasangan, berbagi bahan dan sumber bacaan, dan bergiliran menjadi pembaca dan pendengar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh  cooperative menggunakan buku digital (e-book) terhadap kompetensi membaca mahasiswa dan persepsi mereka terhadap penerapannya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen khususnya quasi eksperimen dengan desain non-ekuivalen comparison. Ada 42 sebagai sampel yang terbagi dalam dua kelompok berbeda; 21 sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan 21 sebagai kelompok kontrol. Untuk mengumpulkan data penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen yaitu tes membaca (pre-test dan post-test) dan angket yang terdiri dari 5 pertanyaan utama. Kemudian hasil tes membaca dihitung secara kuantitatif dengan menggunakan bantuan SPSS dan angket dianalisis dan disajikan dalam bentuk persentase. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa metode cooperative script dengan menggunakan buku digital berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan membaca mahasiswa yang ditunjukkan dengan skor rata-rata membaca siswa meningkat dari 60,24 menjadi 76,90. Selain itu, hasil uji Paired Sample T-test yang digunakan untuk menganalisis nilai siswa pada pre-test dan post-test pada kelompok eksperimen berada pada taraf Sig (2-tailed) 0,000 atau < 0,05 yang berarti nilai siswa pada kelompok eksperimen meningkat secara signifikan dan ini berarti H1 diterima. Temuan lain yang menarik adalah siswa memiliki pendapat positif terhadap implementasi cooperative script menggunakan buku digital. Selain itu, berdasarkan angket, pendapat positif mahasiswa terkait dengan lima hal utama yaitu penerapan cooperative script, pemahaman mereka, diskusi, motivasi dan kemampuan dalam membuat ringkasan.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has brought great changes in the world of education, including in the process of learning English. Amidst the rapid development and importance of technology and digital literacy in education, there are still many challenges and obstacles experienced by English teachers who have limited technological skills, especially in the process of integrating technology into learning at SMPN 1 Wonggeduku. These problems are not only related to low technical competence, but also limited supporting facilities, lack of continuous training, and psychological constraints such as lack of self-confidence. Therefore, this study aims to find out more about the challenges and constraints experienced by English teachers who have limited technological skills. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, with data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation involving two English teachers. In addition, the subjects of this study were English teachers at SMPN 1 Wonggeduku, totaling 2 people. Then, the data in this study were analyzed through three stages, namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the main obstacles lie in the basic skills of using digital devices, such as laptops and projectors, as well as difficulties in operating learning applications. In addition, the limited internet network, the lack of supporting devices in each class, and the unavailability of technology experts also exacerbate the problem.
