Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak pemberian kompos kulit durian dan pupuk urea terhadap beberapa sifat kimia tanah dan pertumbuhan jagung pada tanah Inceptisol Kwala Bekala. Penelitian ini dilakukan di rumah kasa, di Laboratorium Kimia dan Kesuburan Tanah dan Laboratorium Riset dan Teknologi, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sumatera Utara. Rancangan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini disusun dalam Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor dengan 2 ulangan. Faktor pertama pupuk urea yaitu : U0 (0 g/polibag), U1 (0,38 g/polibag), U2 (0,75 g/polibag), U3 (1,13 g/polibag) dan faktor kedua kompos kulit durian yaitu : B0 (0 g/polibag), B1 (12,5 g/polibag), B2 (25 g/polibag), B3 (37,5 g/polibag). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian kompos kulit durian meningkatkan C- organik, bobot kering tajuk, dan bobot kering akar. Pemberian pupuk urea meningkatkan N tanah, tinggi tanaman, dan bobot kering tajuk,. Interaksi pemberian kompos kulit durian dan pupuk urea meningkatkan tinggi tanaman dan bobot kering tajuk.

Abstract

Nitrogen is very important nutrient growth of plant but eassy lost from soil. The aim of this researc to get the best biochar feedstock in maintaining N-total in the Inceptisol soil. Theresearch was carried out in the laboratory using the method of experiment. This research was carried out with complete randomized design non factorial with the treatment without biochar (controls), and 4 types of biochar from palm empty fruit bunches, rice straw, rice husks and wood, is repeated four times. The observed parameters are pH H2O,CEC, & N-total ground. The results showed that the four types of biochar can increase the pH H2O, CEC, N-total ground. Loss of Nutrient N decreased significantly due to the granting of biochar palm empty fruit bunches. Absorption capacity of biochar to reduce leaching of N in the soil of inseptisol sorted from largest to smallest is biochar palm empty fruit bunches, rice husk, rice straw and wood.
