<![CDATA[The film Kim Ji Young Born 1982 is one of the South Korean films that is based on the reality that occurs in society, especially in the Asian region, this film is adapted from the novel by Cho Nam Jo of the same title. This film tells about the main character named Kim Ji Young who since childhood has always received unfair treatment, this treatment continues until Ji Young goes to school, works, and even gets married. Even though South Korea is counted as a developed country, the patriarchal culture in that country is still very strong. The approach used in this film is a qualitative approach with Sara Mils' critical discourse analysis method, Sara Mils' critical discourse analysis model emphasizes more on how the position of the actor is shown. in the text. The purpose of this study is to find out how women are treated differently in work, especially in the public sphere. The difference between this research and previous research lies in the method used, namely Sara Mils' critical discourse analysis method. Film Kim Ji Young Born 1982 adalah salah satu film Korea Selatan yang diangkat dari realitas yang terjadi di masyarakat khususnya daerah Asia, film ini diadaptasi dari novel karya Cho Nam Jo dengan judul yang sama. Film ini menceritakan tentang tokoh utama bernama Kim Ji Young yang sejak kecil selalu menerima perlakuan tidak adil, perlakuan tersebut terus berlanjut sampai Ji Young sekolah, bekerja, bahkan hingga menikah. Meskipun Korea Selatan terhitung sebagai negara maju, budaya patriarki yang ada di Negara tersebut masih tergolong sangat kental Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam film ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis wacana kritis Sara Mils, model analisis wacana kritis Sara Mils lebih menekankan pada bagaimana posisi actor yang ditampilkan dalam teks. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana perempuan diperlakukan berbeda dalam pekerjaan khususnya pada ranah public.
