Abstract

Abstrak: Prevalensi karies gigi dan gigi berlubang pada anak di Kelurahan Talang Semut Palembang masih cukup tinggi yaitu 15,2% dan 18,2%. Pengetahuan tentang kebiasaan sikat gigi dan mencuci tangan juga belum baik. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan anak dalam memelihara kebersihan gigi dan tangan. Pengabdian ini dilakukan bersama masyarakat dengan mengidentifikasi masalah kesehatan dan menentukan solusi sesuai kebutuhan. Kegiatan ini diawali dengan melakukan survei masalah kesehatan pada berbagai kelompok umur. Masalah yang didapat disajikan dalam musyawarah bersama masyarakat untuk mencapai mufakat terhadap masalah prioritas dan solusi yang dibutuhkan. Pemberian edukasi kesehatan gigi dan kebersihan tangan pada anak menjadi hal yang dibutuhkan masyarakat untuk mengatasi masalah utama. Pre-post test dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan intervensi, dan hasil menunjukkan bahwa edukasi telah meningkatkan rata-¬rata skor pengetahuan anak dari 73,52 menjadi 78,20. Peningkatan pengetahuan anak dan peran orang tua sebagai role model diharapkan dapat menciptakan perilaku sehat sehingga dapat menurunkan prevalensi masalah kesehatan gigi dan tangan pada anak. Untuk mencapai keberhasilan intervensi kesehatan diperlukan peran aktif masyarakat dalam mengenal masalah, menentukan solusi yang tepat serta komitmen tinggi untuk terlibat dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan.Abstract: The prevalence of dental caries and cavities amongst children in RT 03 and 04 Kelurahan Talang Semut Palembang is 15.2% and 18.2%, respectively. Low knowledge about brushing teeth and washing hands also. This community service aims to improve children's knowledge and skills in maintaining dental and hand hygiene. This service is carried out with the community by identifying health problems and determining the solutions. This activity was initiated by surveying health problems in various age groups. The problems obtained were presented in deliberation with the community to reach a consensus on priority issues and required solutions. Providing children with dental health and hand hygiene education was the community's need to overcome the problem. The pre-post test was carried out before and after the intervention and showed that education had increased the average score of children's knowledge from 73.52 to 78.20. Increased knowledge is expected to create healthy behavior in maintaining dental and hand hygiene and reduce the prevalence of dental health problems amongst children. The community must be active in recognizing problems, determining appropriate solutions, and having a high commitment to implementing activities.

Abstract

Diabetes is already considered an epidemic and by 2025, it is estimated that around 380 million people, or 7.3% of the adult population in the world will be affected by this disease Diabetes Atlas 2012 (International Diabetes Federation) lists that the estimated population of Indonesia over 20-79 years is 7.6 million people and the assumption of DM prevalence is 5.14%. Indonesia ranks 8th largest in the number of people with diabetes mellitus. The order above is China (92.3 million), India (63.0 million), the United States (24.1 million), Brazil (13.6 million), the Russian Federation (12.7 million), and Mexico (10.6 million). Problems faced by elderly Posyandu participants In the working area of the Kerinjing Health Center, Kerinjing Village, Ogan Ilir Regency, Palembang.: Never received information about Diabetes Mellitus and non-pharmacological management, especially the combination of self-surrender exercises with deep breath relaxation to lower blood sugar in the elderly with Diabetes Mellitus, Never been taught self-surrender exercises and deep breath relaxation in lowering blood sugar levels in the elderly Diabetes Mellitus At the Elderly Posyandu, the working area of the Kerinjing Health Center is Kerinjing Village, Ogan Ilir Regency, Palembang. The approach methods used to achieve the Output Target are determined, namely; Education (Counseling), Demonstration of Self-Resignation Training, and Deep Breath Relaxation in Lowering Blood Sugar Levels of Diabetes Mellitus Elderly. The application of the Combination of Self-Resignation Exercises and Deep Breath Relaxation is carried out routinely in the elderly with Diabetes Mellitus there is a decrease in Blood Sugar levels by involving cadres and elderly families who control the implementation of the exercise.
