Abstract

The discussion about feminism never ceases to be debated in all aspects. Women and men are always contested about who is "the most". This paper looks at this aspect more fundamentally through a novel entitled Bloody Asmara Ken Arok Ken Dedes. The concept of the body in this work is useful for establishing a legitimacy for power and recognition. Until in the end this body discourse was overturned by the resistance about body ownership. Ken dedes won to be a subject that is able to stand alone and even become a domineering person.

Abstract

This article examines the narrative strategies of locality by several Indonesian authors as literary facts. A collection of short stories Doa yang Terapung become the material object in this article. The selection of this material object is based on the diverse narrative content of locality in this short story collection. The formal object used to analyze the form of narrative strategies based on locality in the short stories in the book uses Franz Karl Stanzel's narrative strategy theory. Stanzel divides the narrative strategies used by authors into three: first-person narrative, authorial narrative, and figural narrative. The purpose of this study is to identify whether the narrative of locality, which is a literary strategy of Indonesian authors, has an influence on the development of Indonesian literature, particularly on narrative development. This is motivated by the existence of leaks in the narrative of locality. The research method in this article is descriptive qualitative by describing each finding in the material object. The data source in this study is short stories collected in a collection of stories Doa yang Terapung. The research findings show that the introduction of external discourses (such as modernity, formal religion, and capitalism) triggers a shift in the narrative axis, resulting in two paradoxical outcomes. First, epistemologically, locality loses its dominance and suffers the fate of being marginalized in sociological reality and re-subordinated within the fictional space. Second, narratologically, this leakage becomes an essential literary strategy. The author exploits the death of local purity as a driving force for conflict, animating the plot, creating intense dramatic tension, and successfully rescuing the ethnic narrative from the trap of static cultural romanticism.
