Abstract

This study is a literature study using a descriptive qualitative approach. The method used is content analysis with a historical study approach on historical documents of Zheng He's visit to the archipelago in the 14th-15th centuries AD. From the results of the discussion, this study concludes; first; The main mission of Zheng He's visit to the archipelago was to gain recognition from the rulers of the archipelago's kings of the Chinese emperor's power during the Ming Dynasty, as well as efforts to meet the logistical needs of the kingdom through trade and friendship and peace. Second; Zheng He's arrival in the archipelago contributed to the opportunity for good diplomatic relations between Indonesia and China today. This can happen, supported by the romantic factor of the beautiful history of the past that has been inscribed by Admiral Cheng Ho from China who has successfully carried out diplomatic missions and the symbols of Islam well in this archipelago. One of the evidences of these memories is the existence of several mosques in the archipelago whose architecture imitates the characteristics of China, namely the Muhammad Cheng Ho Mosque in several cities in Indonesia to commemorate Cheng Ho's services in carrying out diplomatic missions that were carried out peacefully.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the influence of Islam in Indonesia-China public diplomacy perspective, to determine the roles of non-state actors, as well as to identify its opportunity and challanges. This research conducts a qualitative-descriptive approach. The researcher found that Islam influences both countries’ public diplomacy in art and cultural field as well as public diplomacy practices. Admiral Cheng Hoo holds major roles in the spread of Islam that time. The roles of non-state actors are crucial when conducting people-to-people approach: as dialogue and cooperation partner, and as promotor. Both countries has enjoyed advantages being each other’s partner in various fields. The role of promotor is beared mainly by Muhammadiyah and Nahdatul Ulama in disseminating the core value of Islam which is peace and justice. The opportunity in actualizing a sustainable cooperation between Indonesia- China is wide open in the near future due to the spirit of Belt and Road Initiatives. Meanwhile, the challenges are quite solid. The fact that Islam is minority in China and the lack of references leads to misperception among Chinese people; the domination of China in economy that are considered  as  a threat  by most  Indonesian  people;  the  long-existed negative perception toward Indonesian-Chinese descendants; as well as Indonesia’s double  identity  dilemma (pluralist  and  religious state)  in formulating public diplomacy are several defiances that must be solved in achieving a harmonious relations between Indonesia and China.

Abstract

Pada masa pertumbuhan globalisasi sekarang hubungan keterkaitan negara semakin mudah dan lebih cepat. Globalisasi sendiri merupakan sebuah tahapan yang akan menjadikan dunia dalam kesatuan yang sama dengan tidak adanya batas oleh garis dan masyarakat melalui garis geografi pada kedaulatan negara. Dengan dunia yang akan melalui tahapan ini menjadikan globalisasi dapat tidak terbatas dalam suatu kedaulatan negara dan negara akan menjadi terhubungan dengan sangata luas yang telah mendapatkan dukungan melalui pertumbuhan komunikasi seperti, internet, media cetak dan elektronik. Artikel ini menjawab masalah bagaimana pencegahan peredaran narkoba di Jawa Timur pada era globalisasi dewasa ini. Dalam lajunya globalisasi muncullah yang disebut kejahatan lintas batas negara, dimana kejahatan transnasional antara lain seperti, perdagangan manusia, perdagangan narkotika dan obat-obatan, pencucian uang, dan lain sebagainya. Karena pertumbuhan globalisasi yang laju Indonesia menjadi negara yang terlibat dengan banyak mempunyai kasus tentang persebaran narkotika, dimana Indonesia berada di wilayah yang sangat strategis. Dengan ini memudahkan untuk transaksi jual beli narkoba. Negara-negara di dunia juga beberapa minim pertahanan dan keamanannya dan itu yang membuat para mafia dengan gampang mendistribusikan narkotika. Maka dari itu sebaiknya mulai dari individu untuk memerangi penyebarana narkotika, agar generasi yang aka datang tidak buruk. BNN juga menjadi salah satu instansi yang berperan baik dalam memberantas narkoba di Indonesia.
