Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between social support with optimism in cancer survivor at Dr. Moh Hoesin Hospital Palembang. The type of research used is quantitative. The sample in this study amounted to 52 Cancer survivors aged 20-60 years. Measurement of validity in this study using the SPSS Statistic version 25 program, which uses the Pearson product moment correlation analysis method. The research instrument used is the Social Support scale with the Optimism scale. The research instrument used is a social support scale based on the social support aspect of Nervousino, namely emotional or esteem support, tangible or instrumental support, informational support, and companionship support with an optimism scale based on aspects of Seligman's theory consisting of personalization, permanence, and pervasiveness. The results of the Hypothesis test showed a significant value of 0.393 where p <0.004, the results of the hypothesis testing that social support had a relationship with optimism at Dr. Moh Hoesin Hospital Palembang. So it can be stated that the proposed hypothesis is proven.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-compassion and resilience in the Bunda Pangkalan Balai orphanage. This research method is correlational quantitative. The research subjects were 40 students of the orphanage who were selected using the total sample technique. The instrument used is a self-compassion scale and a resilience scale. The results of data analysis using the Pearson product moment analysis technique (SPSS ver.26 for windows) showed that there was a relationship between self-compassion and resilience in the youth at the Bunda Pangkalan Balai orphanage with a correlation coefficient I of 0.439 with a significant value of 0.022, which means the significance value is < 0.05. These results indicate that there is a relationship between self- compassion and resilience in the youth of the Bunda Pangkalan Balai orphanage. With these results, the hypothesis proposed in this study is accepted.

Abstract

Academic adjustment is a critical experience for university students in an educational setting. Students' ability to adjust with academic pressures will determine their level of success in reaching educational goals and academic development. As a result, it is critical to comprehend the psychological aspects that can influence a student's academic adjustment. This study examined the influence of internal locus of control and academic self-efficacy on academic adjustment among students at the Faculty of Psychology UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. This study involved (n=228) students selected using simple random sampling. The data was analyzed with IBM SPSS version 26 and Mplus version 7. Internal locus of control and academic self-efficacy significantly contribute to academic adjustment (R2 = 0.975). The increase in one point on internal locus of control and academic self-efficacy will impact academic adjustment. To improve students' academic adjustment, universities, especially academic departments, should focus on student locus of control and academic self-efficacy. They can approach learning problems better equipped and achieve their academic goals if they improve their internal locus of control and academic self-efficacy.
