Abstract

The Galang-Galang River or also known as the Binanga Karaeng River is a border river between the Polewali Mandar Regency (Polman) which was formerly known as Polmas before separating from South Sulawesi Province. During the rainy season, the water in this river often overflows and can even pose a danger to plantation and rice field farmers around the two border areas. Some of the rainwater that falls on the surface erodes the soil so that it is carried by the flow of water into the river downstream to make the sediment deposits increase. Sediment formed in the flow of the Galang - Galang river will cause a lack of river capacity during the dry season and in the rainy season, it will cause flooding. In this study, direct measurements and sampling of bottom sediment and floating sediment were carried out at three river points. The purpose of the study was to analyze deductions of basic sedimentary transports and sediments floating in the galange-Galang river. The study conducted direct measurements as well as retrieval of basic sedimentary samples and sediment rising at three points of the river. Basic sedimentary transport was calculated using the van rjin method, and for levitating sediments, it was calculated by a momentary method. From the results of the analysis, the bottom sediment transport discharge in the upstream is 4x10-4 tons/day, in the middle, it is 0.0891 tons/day, and in the downstream, it is 1x10-4 tons/day. Meanwhile, the floating sediment transport discharge is 0.208 tons/day upstream, 0.278 tons/day in the middle, and 0.121 tons/day downstream, where floating sediment transport is measured at a very small discharge so that the results are obtained are also small.

Abstract

This test aims to determine the durability value of the crushed stone material obtained from the Batupapan River, Telluwanua. Marshall's soaking method is used to determine the durability of this Laston AC-Base mixture. The duration of soaking used is 30 minutes to 48 hours with a stability value of 2455.26 kg – 2136.08 kg, a flow value of 3.30 mm – 4.60 mm, and for a durability value at a duration of 30 minutes to 36 hours is still below the maximum value of durability (below 90%) while 48-hour soaking does not meet (above 90%).

Abstract

In a construction, be it a building, a land transportation building or a water building, there is a supporting land. If the soil used has good characteristics then it does not need to get special attention, but as we know not all soils have the same characteristics and some are even bad which if used for a construction can result in a construction failure. From this understanding, a study aimed at improving soil quality will be tried, namely by using coffee grounds waste for added materials which will later be tested to see and find out how much influence it has on increasing cohesion and shear angles. The purpose of this study was to determine the physical properties of the soil and to determine the effect of adding coffee residues on soil supplied from the slow mamasa regency with a direct shear test. The methods carried out on this study used experimental studies. The results showed that each soil sample mixed with coffee grounds in the composition of addition by 5%, 10% and 15% experienced an increase in the cohesion value (c) and the shear angle value (φ).

Abstract

The basic principle of earthworks for roads is to be able to provide the space needed for traffic movement safely and smoothly, the subgrade as the foundation for the foundation of the road body must be able to support the traffic load that is channeled through the pavement without significant deformation. The purpose of this study was to determine the physical properties of the soil from the Muunloe sub-district, to determine the effect of the addition of cement and rice husk ash on the density of clay soil and to review the effect of the addition of cement and rice husk ash on the carrying capacity of clay soil by testing the DCP. Based on the AASHTO classification, soils originating from Moncongloe District, Maros Regency are clay soils with moderate plasticity and included in the classification group A-7-5 (17). The carrying capacity of the clay soils used in this study reached 11.17%, while for soils varied with 5% cement by 16.46%, for variations of 5% cement and 5% rice husk ash obtained CBR values of 14.79%, for variations of 5% cement and 10% rice husk ash by 11.17% and 12.91% for soil varied by 5% cement and 15% rice husk ash, the highest CBR value increase was in the 5% cement variation, which was 5.24% of the original soil.

Abstract

The population and count of vehicles in Makassar City as the capital city of South Sulawesi Province, continues to increase every year, so that traffic flow increases. For this reason, it must be supported with adequate service facilities, especially on routes that can cause congestion if not handled technically. One example of a signalized intersection where long queues often occur is the Goa Ria intersection in Biringkanaya District, Makassar City Using the 2014 PKJI Method. The research location at the intersection of Jalan Goa Ria, Biringkanaya District is a three-signalized intersection. At this intersection congestion, queues and delays often occur due to heavy traffic, especially during rush hour. Based on the problems above, the signalized intersection on Jalan Goa Ria, Biringkanaya District needs to be reviewed regarding traffic light settings using the PKJI 2014 method as an update from MKJI 1997. The results of the Traffic Light Review at Goa Ria Intersection, Biringkanaya District obtained traffic light settings on The Goa Ria intersection, Biringkanaya District is less effective because based on calculations using the 2014 Indonesia Road Capacity Guidelines it produces different traffic light cycle time values and high queue length and delay values, especially on the north arm. Traffic volume at the Goa Ria intersection, Biringkanaya sub-district occurs during the afternoon peak hours with the volume on the North arm 1182 pcu/hour, East 152.8 pcu/hour, and South 955.8 pcu/hour.

Abstract

Land is a means of supporting buildings such as buildings, land transportation buildings, and aqueducts, as the land is used as the site where the building is built, so the power of the land affects the safety and comfort of the building. However, not all soils have good support, therefore, less good soils need to be stabilized by solidification or mixing of added materials that can improve soil properties such as cement, fly ash, lime, sand, and others. This study aims to determine the sliding angle of the mixture of rice and lime ash with some variation in the level of added ingredients and through direct shear, with reference to the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM D3080). In this study, additional material was tested on a mixture of Lempung Soil using less than 50% gravel and sand soil. The methodology in this study is to be a reference and future evaluation to further develop rice husks and lime ash waste as an additional material for direct shear testing. Water content is 55.949%, land weight is 39.22 gr/cm3, land type weight 2.34 gr/cm3, brick boundary Atterbag liquid limit 54.40, plastic limit 40.53 and plastic index 13.67.
