Abstract

The problem in this research is the lack of students' ability to solve problems and the lack of use of interactive quizzes in learning. The purpose of this study is to analyse differences in the ability of students to solve math problems with Quizizz interactive quizzes and Liveworksheets. This research uses a quantitative research type using a Quasi Experiment approach. The data collection in this study used interviews and a problem-solving ability test in the form of open essay questions. This study sample is two class devided into an experimental class that will apply the Quizizz interactive quiz and an experimental class that will apply the interactive Liveworksheet quiz. The data analysis of this research was started by using validity test, reliability test, discriminatory power test, difficulty level test, normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing on Post-Test questions. The results showed Post-Test data using the Liveworksheet interactive quiz, the average score obtained was 22.8, while the class using the Quizizz interactive quiz had an average of 19.4. It can be concluded that the Liveworksheet interactive quiz is better than the one using the Quizizz interactive quiz, because it can make it easier for students to use it when understanding the material and working on essay questions, besides that students are more enthusiastic about working on questions because they are competing to get the highest score, and students are able to develop mathematical problem solving to improve their way of thinking.

Abstract

Abstract

In learning mathematics, critical thinking is needed to solve problems in various ways including interpreting, analyzing and evaluating. This study aims to analyze the critical thinking of third grade elementary school students in solving problems on the subject of fractions. The research was conducted at Elementary school by involving 26 students as the subject. This research used qualitative method. The data collection techniques used description tests and interviews. The description tests were reviewed based on four critical thinking indicators, namely interpreting, analyzing, evaluating and inference. This qualitative data processing technique is reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data was carried out using a triangulation technique, namely the results of student description tests, and interviews were triangulated to obtain a description of students' critical thinking skills in solving math problems with fractions. The results showed that students with high critical thinking met the four indicators, students who had moderate critical thinking only met two indicators, and students who had low critical thinking did not meet the four indicators. In conclusion, students' critical thinking skills were low. They could not understand the problem well and had not solved it properly. Meanwhile, students who think highly critically are able to understand questions about fractions, to analyze, to choose the right method, and to conclude clearly and logically.

Abstract

The aim of this research develops Two-Dimensional Figure Jenga Media which is valid, practical, and effective to improve the students’ learning outcome of class IV in Mathematic lesson. The method used is Research and Development by applying a 4D model which has four stages including Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. The test subjects for this research were 25 grade IV students at SDN Batu Ampar 02. The data collection technique used included media validation, material validation, language validation, teacher response questionnaires, student response questionnaires and student learning outcome tests. Analysis of the effectiveness of the Two-Dimensional Figure Jenga media used a paired sample T Test which was previously carried out for normality and homogeneity tests as a prerequisite test. The research results for the validity assessment assessed by the Media Validator obtained a score of 89% in the very good category, the Material Validator obtained a score of 89% in the very good category and the Language Validator obtained a score of 78% in the good category. Practicality assessment after being tested based on the value given by the class teacher obtained a score of 98%, and the average gain in small group trials was 97% and large group trials was 87%. Effectiveness assessment based on learning outcome test obtained an average pre-test score of 56.8 and post-test 75.6, as well as the results obtained from normality test calculations, the pre-test sig value was 0.209 and post-test 0.183 > 0.05 indicating that the data is normally distributed. The pre-test and post-test homogeneity test calculations are sig 0.347 and 0.172 > 0.05, which means the data is homogeneous. The paired sample t test calculation is sig (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05, which means that the Two-Dimensional Figure Jenga media has an influence on learning outcome. So, Two-Dimensional Figure Jenga media can be said to be suitable for use to improve learning outcome during the learning process.
