Abstract

Early childhood education is essential in the initial education process and in forming self-foundation. Java Island was the island with the highest average early childhood education gross enrollment rate in Indonesia in 2019. However, the difference in early childhood education gross enrollment rate between regions in Java is also the largest. The economic and socio-demographic conditions that support successful participation at the regional and household levels are not much different. This study aims to determine the general description of early childhood education participation status in Java in 2019, along with the determinants and trends of the variables that influence it. The analytical method used is multilevel binary logistic regression analysis using data from Susenas Kor March 2019 and Dapodik PAUD Kemendikbud. The results show that the participation in early childhood education in Java is 47.47%. All variables except the status of the area of residence had a significant effect, and the tendency to participate in early childhood education was more remarkable for girls. Participation in early childhood education also tends to be greater for children living in districts/cities with a high percentage of villages with a high PAUD unit and a high ratio of educators to children aged 3-6 years.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the developing countries that is actively advancing development. However, limited funding for development is the main obstacle for developing countries, including Indonesia, in increasing development. To overcome these cost problems, a large injection of funds is needed, one of which comes from foreign debt. Although foreign debt helps to advance development, its uncontrolled increase will result in default on debt payments until a crisis occurs. Theoretically, foreign debt is influenced by various faktors including foreign investment (FDI), gross domestic product (GDP), exchange rates, imports, exports, and foreign exchange reserves. This study aims to analyze the effect of FDI, GDP, exchange rate, imports, exports, and foreign exchange reserves on Indonesia's foreign debt in the long term and short term. The analytical method used in this study is the Error Correction Mechanism (ECM) for the period 1981-2020. The results of the study indicate that in the long term and short term the variabels of FDI, foreign exchange reserves, and the exchange rate have a significant and positive effect on Indonesia's foreign debt. Meanwhile, the variabels of GDP, imports, and exports have no significant effect on Indonesia's foreign debt in the long and short term.

Abstract

Stunting is a form of malnutrition in children that is still a health problem in Indonesia, especially in NTB Province. Based on the results of the SSGI, the prevalence of stunting in children under five years of age in NTB Province was 32.7 percent, up 1.3 percent compared to the previous year. This value has not reached the threshold of 20 percent and the national target of 18.4 percent. This puts NTB Province in the fourth highest position in Indonesia. In 2022, NTB Province recorded the highest percentage in Indonesia for children under six months who received exclusive breastfeeding, which was 79.69 percent. However, the prevalence of stunting in toddlers in NTB Province is still very high. Between districts/cities in NTB Province, there is a fairly high disparity in the prevalence of stunting in children under five years of age. This shows the influence of regions or households so that there is a disparity in the prevalence of stunting in children under five years of age. This study aims to describe the incidence of stunting in toddlers in general and analyze the variables that influence it and its tendencies in NTB Province in 2022 using a multilevel binary regression model. The results of the study showed that the variables of toddler gender, toddler age, history of toddler pneumonia, maternal education level, access to clean drinking water sources, access to proper sanitation, and GRDP per capita had a significant effect
