Abstract

The widely exposed of volcanic rocks within western part of Central Java-DIY Southern Mountain areas, indicates that volcanic activities had influenced geology of this area. Volcanic-stratigraphic study finds pumiceus rocks, tuff and co-ignimbrite breccias that can be described as primery volcanic rocks at study areas. Those volcanic rocks were erupted explosively followed by collapsing strato cone and forming new caldera. The associate of volcanic rocks with co-ignimbrite breccias, indicates that the central eruption was not far from the outcropes. Shallow intrusive rocks of andecites bearing hornblendes that exposed at the highest cone shape geomorphology of Gunung Gede, south to southwest Sudimoro, might be as the central eruptions.

Abstract

Potency of Merapi lahars in Putih River, Magelang Regency, is described in terms of management of material deposition. The methode is carried out with the description of material, determination of lahars forming factors, and the geology environmental. Merapi eruption on 2010 has producted volcanic materials about 130 million metre cubic, spread in the upper river of Merapi Volcano as Gendol River, Apu River, Trising River, Senowo River, Lamat River, Putih River, Bebeng River, Krasak River, Bedog River, Boyong River, Kuning River, Opak River and Woro River. One of the rivers in Magelang regency known Putih River, has material volcanic as much as 8,2 million metre cubic. Lahars which to is grouped materials clasification like sands and rocks varying in size. While impact of lahars which must to beware are debris avalanche, over topping, and flood. Therefore in order to minimize the abuse authority, disaster management covers prevention, emergency response, and rehabilitation after disaster is necessary.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the quality of andesite intrusive rocks as a building material. The research location is in the Beji area, East Ungaran District, Semarang Regency, Central Java Province. Analysis of rock quality using data from the test results of engineering and petrographic properties. The andesite studied is an intrusion into basalt. Based on the quality standard requirements for natural stone for buildings (SNI 03-0394-1989) these rocks can be mined for building materials, especially medium to heavy building foundations (1,150.040 -1,421.621 kg/cm2). The middle andesite has a higher strength than the lower andesite. The strength of the rock is supported by resistant minerals in the form of plagioclase, which dominates up to 35%. However, in the andesite body getting down, olivine tends to decrease by 5%. The weathering of these minerals is influenced by the condition of the water in the rock where the water content is 0.391 to 0.412%. In water-saturated conditions, the degree of saturation of the lower rock can reach 100%, exceeding the rock above, 87.5%. The strength of the rock at the bottom is lower, making the slope potentially easy to collapse when the mining method is started from the bottom, especially the excavation is carried out on steep vertical slopes.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the impacts of environmental pollution of Ijen Crater water in Banyupahit watershed such as health and environmental impacts and to determine the quality of river water and springs in the Banyupahit waterspring, Kalianyar village, Sempol District, Bondowoso Regency, East Java Province. The method of this research conducted by the authors is a field study with direct observation in the field as well as library studies and related references related to the title of the seminar. Data analysis and discussion of this research using chemical analysis approach in the form of elements of pH, Clˉ, SO4ˉ and Fˉ taken on two water samples in the study area. The result of the research, it can be concluded that Banyupahit watershed is not feasible to be used because it has a very acidic water and exceeds the maximum permitted according to the standard of Water Quality Standard according to Government Regulation No. 82/2001 on Water Quality Management and Pollution Control Water Class 1. However, from the analysis on the sample of the springs it can be concluded that the springs downstream of the Banyupahit River can be used for clean water because it does not exceed the maximum quality limit in accordance with Ministry of Health Regulation No. 416/MENKES /PER/IX/1990. Based on the results of the research, it is expected that the people around do not use river water for purposes such as bathing, washing and drinking water consumption because this is very dangerous for health. While the environmental impact caused by acid water along the river basin of Banyupahit is in the form of non-living or not the development of animals around the river such as fish.
