Abstract

Objective:   Labor is a natural condition that occurs in women and, in the process, can cause severe pain, and some women can also experience excruciating pain. Pain that maternity mothers cannot overcome can affect the mother's condition in the form of fatigue, frustration, hopelessness, and cause stress. Stress can cause the weakening of uterine contractions and result in prolonged labor. The Rebozo technique is a distraction technique that poses less risk or harmful side effects than pharmacological therapy. This study aimed to determine the effect of the rebozo technique on the length of the first stage and the pain level during labor at Practice Midwife Siti Nurul Aini. Methods: This study uses a pre-experimental research design. This study consisted of 2 groups: the treatment and control groups. The research was conducted from November 2019 to June 2020 at Practice Midwife Siti Nurul Aini. The population in this study were primigravida maternity mothers. The sample of this research was selected by using the purposive sampling technique. In this study, there were 16 respondents in the intervention group and 16 in the control group. The rebozo technique is given as long as there are contractions during the first stage of labor. The Verbal Descriptor Scale (VDS) measures the pain level. This study used an independent T-Test data analysis technique. Results: Based on the independent T-test, the P-value was 0.002, and less than 0.05, Ha was accepted, so it was concluded that the rebozo technique’s effect on the length of the first stage of labor. Statistical tests using the Independent T-test obtained a P-value of 0.000, less than 0.05, then Ha was accepted, concluding that the rebozo technique had affected the pain level in labor. Conclusion:   primigravida maternity who used the rebozo technique progressed faster than the control group. Meanwhile, the pain level of primigravida mothers who used the rebozo technique was lower than the control group. Therefore, the rebozo technique statistically affects the length of labor and the pain level in the first stage of labor in primiparous mothers. The results of this study can be used as an alternative non-pharmacological method in midwifery services to overcome labor pain.

Abstract

Objective: Children must get the right stimulation in every aspect of their development at an early age. One aspect that must be stimulated is gross motor skills. Children's main aspects of gross motor learning are strength, endurance, speed, agility, balance, reaction time, and coordination. Gross motor movements are body movements that use large muscles involving the activity of the hands, feet and the whole body of children, and these movements control maturity in coordination. One of the activities that can develop children's gross motor skills is swimming. This study aimed to determine the effect of swimming therapy on gross motor development in infants 0-12 months. Methods: This research design is Pre and Post Test with one Group Design. One group is given swimming therapy treatment, which is done a week thrice for four weeks for a duration of 10 minutes. Before the treatment, the infants were pre-tested using the Denver Development Screening Test (DDST), then the post-test was carried out four weeks later. This research was conducted from March – June 2020 and is located at TPMB Sri Wahyuni. The population in this study were all infants aged 0-12 months who were present to do swimming therapy totaling 25 people. Results: Based on the table above, it was found that most of the baby's gender was 16 was girls (64.00%). Most babies aged 5-8 months were 17 people (68.00%) and included in the good nutrition category as many as 15 people (60.00%). This study’s results indicate a decrease in derivatives, which initially, at the pre-test 16 infants included in the Caution category, decreased by two people (10%) to only 14 infants. In the normal category, the data increased by two babies (10%), which can be seen from the pre-test as many as seven babies included in the normal category to as many as 9babies. As for the advanced category, there is no increase or decrease, but the baby becomes more active in moving or responding to the surrounding environment. The results showed a significance value of 0.000 with an alpha of 5%Conclusion: There is an effect of swimming therapy on the development of gross motor skills of infants aged 0-12 months TPMB Sri Wahyuni. The baby's mother needs to pay attention to the baby's needs, including meeting the baby's stimulation needs to support the development of her baby, for example, by swimming and other types of exercise.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the need for optimal nutrition and the need for good sleep quality in infants to support their growth and development. This study aims to determine the effect of infant massage on nutritional status and sleep quality in infants aged 0-6 months. The research design was a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design. The study population was infants aged 0-6 months who had low nutritional status and sleep quality at the Haji Hospital in Surabaya. Based on the table above, it can be interpreted that of the 12 infants who received infant massage in the control group and the experimental group, there was a significant effect with a p-value of 0.004 <α 0.05 on sleep quality. While for the nutritional status of the experimental group, a p-value of 0.003 <α 0.05 was obtained. In this study, it was concluded that there was a significant effect of giving infant massage on the sleep quality of infants aged 0-6 months. The researchers found that the quality of infant sleep had increased, where after the infant massage, the poor quality of infant sleep decreased, from 5 infants (41.7%) to 0 infants (0%). This is also seen in the category of good baby sleep quality, increasing significantly from 2 babies (16.7%) to 12 babies (100%) after baby massage. There is a significant effect of giving baby massage on the nutritional status of babies aged 0–6 months.

Abstract

Hormonal fluctuations during menopause often cause physical and psychological changes, including increased anxiety. A lack of understanding about menopause and strategies for managing anxiety can negatively impact women's well-being. This community service program aims to increase women's knowledge about menopause and introduce dhikr (remembrance of God) as a spiritual method for managing anxiety. Participants were 43 women from the Wonosari of 'Aisyiyah, Bondowoso. They were purposively selected active women in the perimenopausal to menopausal age range. Recruitment was conducted through coordination with 'Aisyiyah administrators and those willing to participate in this activity. The intervention program consisted of a menopausal health education session covering hormonal changes, physical and emotional symptoms, health risks, and coping strategies through interactive lectures and Q&A sessions, accompanied by visual presentations to facilitate understanding. Next, participants engaged in a guided dhikr practice session that covered breathing techniques and the repetition of dhikr phrases. We used pretests and posttests to assess increases in participants' knowledge and changes in their anxiety levels. Results showed a significant increase in knowledge, with the number of participants in the good knowledge category increasing from 16 to 35. The dhikr intervention was also effective in reducing anxiety, as evidenced by the increase in participants with no anxiety from 10 to 22 and the disappearance of the severe anxiety category. These findings confirm that the combination of menopausal health education and dhikr practice can be an effective and applicable strategy to help women navigate hormonal changes more adaptively and confidently. This program has the potential to be replicated in other communities to improve the well-being of menopausal women more broadly.
