Abstract

This research focuses on the use of Virtual Reality (VR) as a tool to improve students' practical skills in health education. The study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of VR in developing both technical and non-technical skills among students and to identify VR's contribution to more sustainable and flexible learning. A qualitative approach with a case study method was used, involving in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis at Nurul Jadid University in East Java. The results showed that the use of VR significantly enhanced students' technical skills, such as accuracy and speed in performing medical procedures, as well as non-technical skills like communication, decision-making, and teamwork. Additionally, VR provided more flexible and sustainable access to practice sessions, overcoming the physical and logistical limitations typically faced in health education. The implications of this study suggest that VR has great potential to be integrated into the health education curriculum, offering innovative solutions to improve learning quality and better prepare students for careers in the medical field. The study also recommends further comprehensive research to accommodate various variables, such as gender and age, to provide a more targeted basis for policy.

Abstract

The increase in children's learning problems is related to the level of concentration in learning. One non-pharmacological action that can be taken to increase children's learning concentration is by inhaling lavender aromatherapy and brain gym. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of lavender aromatherapy and brain gym on children's learning concentration levels. The design of this research was three group pretest-posttest. The research subjects were 138 MI Nurul Mun'im students, selected using purposive sampling technique. The data collection instrument was the Army Alpha test to assess concentration level, which consists of 12 question items. Data were analyzed using the Friedman and Kruskal Wallis tests. The results of the Friedman test showed a p-value of 0.000 for the lavender aromatherapy group, 0.000 for the brain gym group and 0.000 for the combination of lavender aromatherapy and brain gym group. This means that in the three groups there was a significant change in learning concentration after being given treatment. Meanwhile, comparison between the three groups using the Kruskall Wallis test showed a p-value of 0.460 (no difference). It was concluded that lavender aromatherapy, brain gym, and a combination of lavender aromatherapy and brain gym were both effective in increasing students' learning concentration. Keywords: students; study concentration; lavender aromatherapy; brain gym ABSTRAK Meningkatnya masalah belajar anak berhubungan dengan tingkat konsentrasi belajar.
