Abstract

PT. Nan Riang is a coal mining company located in Muara Tembesi District, Batanghari Regency, Jambi Province. PT. Nan Riang applied open pit system in its operation, in which Stripe Mine was considerably implemented as the main method. The utilisation of this method would form pits, so that, during rainy days, the water could potentially be stagnant in front. The catchment areas are divided into 6 sections; the 1st catchment area was 0.00929 km2, the 2nd catchment area was 0.06017 km2, the 3rd catchment area was 0.03256 km2, the 4th catchment area was 0.03960 km2, the 5th catchment area was 0.08065 km2, and the 6th catchment area was 0.02596 km2. From the calculation of drainage dimensions, it was highlighted that the water level was approximately 0.26 m, width of drainage was about 0.39 m, width of drainage surface was 0.78 m, wet circumference was about 0.73 m, the depth of was 1.07 m, and length of side was 1.19 m. The pump that is set for the drainage was LCC-H 50-230, with the pumping capacity of 3,405 m3/ hour. These pumps have Total Head of 90 m, with the impeller rotation of 3710 rpm. The amount of water entering the settling pond was 15.80336 m3/ second, with the settling widht of 29.71 m2 pond. Regarding the dimensions of settling pond, in which water could be gathered as calculated, therefore settling pond should be set at 10 m in length, 4 m in width and 2 m in height, with the volume of 237.64451 m3.

Abstract

PT. Haltim Mining is one of the nickel mining companies with sediment resources consist of several layers, namely cover soil, limonite, saprolite and bedrock. About 1.8% of the nickel concentrate would be marketed by the company, but the nickel content sampled for testing by XRF Epsilon 3 tool changes the level between the samples in the Pit and the sample on the stockpile. The results showed that the average level of nickel concentrate sampled at Pit was 1.80%, while the average level of nickel concentrate sampled on Stockpile was 1.75%, with an average difference of 0.09%. Changes in levels were influenced by sampling method, sample preparation and the accuracy of a sampler.

Abstract

The importance of analysing the relationship between the existence of PT. SPCI and the socioeconomic condition of the Maruni village community is to determine how close the relationship between PT. SPCI and the Maruni village community. It turns out that after analysing the results it shows that there is a fairly positive relationship between the existence of PT. SPCI and the basic livelihoods of the community and employment. Meanwhile, there has no association between the presence of PT. SPCI and job opportunities among the villagers.

Abstract

To increased the production, the Deep Ore Zone (DOZ) mining department has a concept of implementing a staggered crew. Staggered crew is a crew formed specifically to support production activities. To assess the performance of the application of the staggered crew, an evaluation of the factors that influence production activities is carried out. Factors that subject to evaluation are working time, number of operators and production capability. The results of evaluating work time (optimum efficiency) for crew I, II, and III showed as follow 29%, 30%, and 28% respectedly. Very low efficiency is due to time constraints in operation, which are affected by delay time, idle time and maintenance time. Average productive work time (work) is 3.26 hours/day, delay time is 3.26 hours/day, idle time is 4.03 hours/day and maintenance time is 0.53 hours/day. Idle time is the highest time of these four parameters. The results also showed that there were differences in the number of distribution operators, namely crew I numbered 16 people, crew II numbered 12 people and crew III numbered 15 people. But the number of operators on each crew is still sufficient to support production activities. The average production is 62.14 tons/hour and 4,784.78 tons/day. So with a production of 62.14 tons/hour and working time of 11 hours/day, it takes a minimum of 8 dump truck operators to reach a value of 5,468.32 tons/day.

Abstract

It is very important to know the design of the mine drainage system where to know the maximum rainfall each year, the extent of the catchment area, rainwater runoff discharge, sedimentation speed, open channel dimensions and sedimentation pond dimensions. The problem in this research is, how much is the catchment area, limited rainfall owned by the company, sedimentation speed, sedimentation pond dimensions and open channels. So that the results of the above problems are obtained, namely the extent of the arafah rain catchment area 103810,009 m2, waste dump I 256.901 m2, waste dump II 327172.506 m2. Runoff discharge at the area of 0.763 m3 / second, waste dump I 1,889 m3 / second, waste dump II 2,405 m3 / second. Sedimentation speed compressed 0,000365 m / s, open channel dimensions (neural area) I = 0.4 m, b = 0.45 m, t = 1.2 m, d = 0.7 m, h = 0.4 m. Waste dump area 1. I = 0.5 m, b = 0.63, t = 1.65 m, d = 1 m, h = 0.5 m. Waste dump area II. S = 600, I = 0.6 m, b = 0.7 m, t = 1.8 m, d = 1.1 m, h = 0.6 m. Abstract

The consequences of a mining operation can be both positif and negatif impacts. The negative impact of mining occurs in the terms of environmental damage. To repair the damage that has an impact on the environment, reclamtion activities are carried out. PT Adaro Indonesia is a company engaged in coal mining by implementing open pit mining using the Strip Mine method, one of which is located in the Paringin High Wall 2 area block, Balangan Regency, South Kalimantan Province. Evaluating the activities carried out in the ex-mining land reclamation process is necessary in order to determine the success rate of reclamation by providing an assessment of each reclamation activity that has been carried out based on the Regulation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia No. 26 of 2018 Annex VI No. 1872 K/30/MEM/2018, concerning Guuidelines for the Implementation of Reclamtion and post-mining and post-operations in Mineral and Coal Mining Business Activities. The results of the evaluation of the success rate of reclamation at PT Adaro Indonesia in 2019 in the Paringin High Wall 2 area block was 92% with an area of 37.95 ha was categorised as ‘good’, but there are several parameters that have been carrid out but have not been maximized

Abstract

PT. Gag Nikel is one of the companies engaged in the nickel mining industry that is allowed to conducted open-pit mining system within protected forest area in Raja Ampat Regency, West Papua Province. The problem raised in this study is how wide the catchment area, the dimensions of the settling ponds, the dimensions of the drainage that exist on the mine road. The study gave results of 0.44 km2 rain catchment area, 278.983 m3/57.28 seconds water discharge in settling pond 1, 262.2 m3/53.83 seconds water discharge in settling pond 2, 436,608 m3/89.65 seconds water discharge in settling pond 3 out of total 629,177 m3/2.01 minutes (120.06 seconds), and the dimensions of the drainage at the mine road is ideal due to it accommodates planned discharge.

Abstract

Fragmentation of blasted rock aims to determine the average size and size distribution of blasted fragmentation. In fragmentation analysis, blasting geometry calculates to acquire the burden, spacing, stemming, and sub drilling values. The primary data needed in rock fragmentation resulting from blasting are rock mass weighting data, explosive data, and actual blasting data obtained from previous researchers. The results of the actual fragmentation analysis obtained are the actual average fragmentation size of 21,83 cm and the average size of fragmentation using the ICI-Explosives design of 27,22 cm. The actual fragmentation size distribution is 1,92 % 100 cm and 99,08 % 100 cm. Meanwhile, the results of the size distribution of the fragmentation resulting from blasting using the Kuz Ram method using the ICI – Explosives blasting geometry design will produce fragmentation sizes of 0,84 % 100 cm and 99,16% 100 cm.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the efficiency of the crushing plant at PT. Nur Hazanah Karya Abadi, using a descriptive method, describes the state of the object of research directly. It is known that the average efficiency value based on the availability of mechanical equipment is effectiveness 67.8%, availability of mechanical/physical 67.15%, utility 36.5%, and optimum efficiency 34.85%. Based on the work assessment table, the crushing plant efficiency is classified as very bad, due to the optimum efficiency value below 58%.

Abstract

Belt conveyor is an equipment used for transfering material that is widely used in the mining industry. The equipment consists of belts made of various types of materials that are resistant when transporting solid materials. The research aims to figure out the performance of the belt conveyor operated by PT. Nur Hazanah Karya Abadi, to determine the actual and theoretical production of a conveyor belt, and to determine the efficiency of a conveyor belt. The results show the theoretical productions of each belt conveyor fraction is as followed: fraction 1 at 94,396 tons/hour, fraction 2 at 97,164 tons/hour, fraction 3 at 211,566 tons/hour, and fraction 4 at 73,587 tons/hour. The actual productions of each conveyor belt fraction are as followed: fraction 1 at 23,617 tons/hour, fraction 2 at 28,185 tons/hour, fraction 3 at 30,307 tons/hour, and fraction 4 at 8,447 tons/hour. The value of work efficiency on the conveyor belt is 35%. The performance of belt conveyor in PT. Nur Hazanah Karya Abadi, based on the calculation of production and work efficiency, has not really good yet.
