Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai-nilai budaya dalam himne Pasomba Tedong. Himne Pasomba Tedong adalah pengiring upacara yang diucapkan pada upacara syukuran tertinggi dalam kehidupan orang Toraja, yaitu pada upacara maqbuaq dan meruaq yang  diperuntukkan kepada Puang Matua, ilah-ilah, dan dewata. Tujuan upacara ini adalah untuk memohon kesuburan tanah dan memudahkan interaksi sosial masyarakat dengan mengorbankan seekor kerbau muda hitam dan gemuk. Himne Pasomba Tedong disajikan dalam bentuk prosa lirik.  Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif, yaitu penelitian yang menggambarkan objeknya secara apa adanya. Data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan teknik inventarisasi, baca simak, pencatatan, teknik observasi partisipasi, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai yang ditemukan dalam himne Pasomba Tedong adalah nilai religi, nilai persatuan, nilai musyawarah mufakat, nilai etis, dan nilai tenggang rasa/saling menghormati.Abstract:This research is aimed at  knowing  cultural values in the hymn of Pasomba Tedong. Pasomba Tedong hymn is an accompanist ceremony pronounced at thanksgiving ceremony in Toraja’s life by performing  Maqbuaq and Meruaq  ceremony  for Puang Matua and God. The purpose of the ceremony  is to invoke fertility of the soil and  facilitate social interaction with the community to sacrifice a fat black bull. Passomba Tedong is presented in prose lyrics. This re- search applies the qualitative descriptive method that describes the object as it is. The data were collected by using inventory techniques, reading, recording, observation, and interview. The result shows that the values in Pasomba Tedong are religious value, unity value, consensus agreement value, ethical value, and tolerance or mutual respect value.

Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan membahas makna lagu Bugis Sajang Rennu ciptaan Yusuf Alamudi melalui pendekatan hermeneutika. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik inventarisasi, baca-simak, dan pencatatan dalam pengumpulan datanya. Teknik analisis data melalui tahap identifikasi, klasifikasi, analisis, dan deskripsi. Analisis makna lagu dengan pendekatan hermeneutika ini dilakukan melalui tiga tahap, yaitu analisis kata dalam larik lagu, analisis larik dalam bait, dan analisis bait dalam lagu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa makna lagu Sajang Rennu ciptaan Yusuf Alamudi adalah adanya rasa sirik ?malu? dari seorang lelaki karena kekasih pujaan hatinya menikah dengan orang lain tanpa kabar berita. Konsekuensi dari rasa sirik ?malu? ini membuatnya berpikir untuk mengakhiri hidupnya. Abstract: This writing is intended to discuss the meaning of Buginese song Sajang Rennu by Yusuf Alamudi using hermeneutic approach. This research applies descriptive qualitative method by collecting data using inventory technique, reading-observing, and noting. The technique of data analysis is identification, classification, analysis, and description. The result of the research shows that the meaning of Sajang Rennu by Yusuf Alamudi is sirik or feeling embarassed of a man since his girl friend gets married to another man without any notification before. The consequence of sirik makes him think of suicide. It is figured by the statement that one day people will find a new grave, and he is in. Key Words: meaning; Buginese song; hermeneutic research

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the use of figurative language and the structural strategies in Torajan oral literatures. The method used in this research was a qualitative research. This research was a literature research, thus it was done through reading-listening and noting. The research result showed that there were several figurative language in Torajan oral literatures, for instance, sarcasm structural strategy, the linking figurative of metonymy, and the comparison figurative of allegory in the story of Babuqsolong; the figurative of allegory, irony, and hyperbole in the story of Londorundum; and the figurative of personification and parallelism in the story of Bunga Alluq sola Dalitau. From the three, the story of Londorundum had the most used of figuratives language and structural strategies. The use of figurative language and structural strategies is one of the effort to the local languages preservation as well as supported the national cultural preservation as nation’s asset.
