Abstract

The era of globalization has implications for life that prioritizes technological sophistication and is materialistic, secularistic, hedonistic, pragmatic, and transactional. The era of globalization provides a lifestyle that separates material life from religious teachings. This raises a problem where the sophistication created by humans is used to fulfill lust simply because it is not based on good behavior and morals. Globalization is one of the elements behind the emergence of the idea of character education as an answer in the midst of many conflict issues. Starting from the thought above, the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbaka as one of the values of Hindu local wisdom has a strategic space to develop character education in the community. This conception has a universal meaning that is based on love. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the existence of the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam in the era of globalization through its actualization so that this concept is not merely a slogan. This study uses qualitative research methods with data collection through observation, interviews, and literature study. Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam: the whole world is one family. Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam suggests five things, namely truth, wisdom, love, peace, and ahimsa. Fajar Harapan Elementary School took the momentum of implementing character education by re-grounding the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. The actualization of the Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam concept in the era of globalization at Fajar Harapan Elementary School by internalizing it to students by transforming values into school activities, so that this concept can be actualized in every school member. The pattern of praying together and taking turns according to their respective religions, Christmas programs and breaking the fast together, charity programs, and eating and chatting together during breaks are basically a form of actualization of this concept so that the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam still has an existence to this day.

Abstract

Following the Presidential Decree Number 12, 2020, the minister of education and culture of the Republic of Indonesia issued Circular Number 4, 2020 concerning the implementation of educational policies in the emergency period of the spread of Coronavirus Desiase (Covid-19) which instructed several things, one of which is the learning process carried out from home online or remotely. Google Classroom can be used to create and manage classes in a simple way, which makes this feature chosen by many educators to accommodate their learning. Based on preliminary observations on Hindu religious education and Character in grade IV SD Fajar Harapan leads to the discussion method, where students read the material provided by the educator then continue with a discussion in the message column available on the Google Classroom feature and occasionally use Google Meet. The purpose of this study was to determine the responsse of students to the discussion method applied in the Google Classroom in Hindu religious education learning and character. This study uses a questionnaire with Google Form in retrieving student impression data on the Google Classroom assisted lecture method. The questionnaire as a data collection method and a way of scoring on the questionnaire uses the linkert scale model. The responsse of grade IV students to the application of the Google Classroom-assisted discussion method in learning Hindu Religion and Character Education is of sufficient value based on the linkert scale table. This sufficient value is in the range of 42.8% which is in sufficient criteria which leads to weak criteria so that this method needs to be developed in order to increase the responsse and effectiveness of student learning in Hindu Religion and Character Education subjects.

Abstract

The rapid development of Yoga is currently being looked at by several groups as an alternative in the development of spiritual tourism. Despite the many contradictions against Yoga as spiritual tourism, the purpose of incorporating Yoga teachings into learning in tourism schools is not only to provide tourism workers who have the ability to meet market needs but also to develop students' interests and talents towards Yoga. Starting from the explanation above, the focus of this research is to see the benefits of yoga practice for tourism students at SMK Bali Dewata. The aim is to describe the benefits that tourism students get after participating in Yoga practice. This study was designed using a qualitative approach by displaying the management of the results of observations, interviews, and literature in the form of word descriptions.Yoga practice carried out by tourism students at Bali Dewata Vocational School is broadly divided into three stages, namely: the initial stage where students are invited to pray and are given initial information about Yoga practice, then the core activity is carrying out Yoga exercises, and ends with Sawasana, affirmations , question and answer, and prayer. The tangible benefit is that tourism students have Yoga skills that are useful for themselves and those around them. Tourism practitioners, especially tourism service providers, have a strategic position to develop Yoga opportunities as spiritual tourism. A qualified ability for a provider of tourism students can certainly be an added value when entering the world of work, glancing at the growing popularity of Yoga among tourists. The intangible benefits are physical fitness and maturity of mental attitude in dealing with something. This is useful as students who later become service providers in the field of tourism. Abstract

This research is motivated by the condition of Balinese society which is increasingly modern with the influence of technology so that it has an impact on Balinese traditions and culture, especially the Ngaben Ceremony. Currently, conventional cremation ceremonies have been replaced with cremation cremations through crematoriums, one of which is the crematorium in the Bangli area, namely the Bebalang Crematrium. The crematorium cremation, which has many differences, raises questions about how effective the implementation of the crematorium cremation is and how the Pakraman village responds to the new tradition. This study also reveals the various reasons people have for holding a crematorium cremation ceremony. The purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of the Ngaben crematorium and the response of the Pakraman village in responding to changes in the Ngaben tradition. The research uses qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach, data collection through interviews, observations and literature studies. The results obtained in the study are that crematorium cremations are effective to be carried out in today's modern era which requires everything to be practical and efficient, Pakraman village The reason people choose to do Ngaben in the crematorium is also based on several factors including socio-cultural factors, social structure factors, factors economy, labor and time factors as well as certain condition factors in a region. So far, the awig-awig prevailing in Pakraman village does not limit the existence of crematorium cremations and the ceremony is adjusted to the times, not because an individual is subject to customary sanctions or other things. In carrying out the crematorium cremation, the Pakraman village community is also invited to attend as a symbol of harmony and maintain good relations between individuals and the community so as to minimize the risk of offence or misunderstanding.
