Abstract

Infants aged 0-6 months need adequate nutritional intake to support growth and development. These nutritional needs are highly dependent on breast milk (ASI). In breastfeeding mothers, problems often occur such as insufficient milk production and mothers do not understand the correct lactation management. Lactagogum and vitamin A play a role to help increase milk production. One of the fruits that contain laktagogum is young papaya, and carrots are foodstuffs that contain vitamin A. Young papaya and carrots are easily available foodstuffs. When the initial survey was conducted, most of the posyandu cadres and breastfeeding mothers in Kademangan village did not know the benefits of young papaya and carrots to help increase breast milk production for children. Community empowerment activities through posyandu are one solution to increase community knowledge in the use of young papaya and carrots to help increase production. This service activity was carried out in Kademangan Village, Jambi District outside the City, aiming to increase public knowledge in the use of young papaya and carrots to help increase breast milk production for breastfeeding mothers. The target of service is posyandu cadres (how many prang) and 30 nursing mothers. The flow of service before the activity was carried out by a pretest, then counseling and pocket books were given, followed by the practice of processing food made from young papaya and carrots, then a post test was carried out. The results of the activity showed an increase in the average score of knowledge in general before and after providing counseling to posyandu cadres and breastfeeding mothers. The average score of prior knowledge of posyandu cadres before the intervention was 7.60 increased to 9.80 and the average score of early knowledge of breastfeeding mothers was 7.60 increased to 9.86.

Abstract

Measurement of uterine fundal height (TFU) to determine the estimated fetal weight (TBJ) is an important component of antenatal care in labor management. Babies born with low body weight or born with very large body weight are associated with increased complications during labor and the puerperium. This study aims to compare the accuracy of the Risanto and Johnson Toshack formulas in determining the estimated fetal weight. The design of this study was cross-sectional, with the sample being parturient mothers in the PMB working area of the Tangkit Health Center in 2022 who met the inclusion criteria, which amounted to 87 people. The sampling technique is accidental sampling. The results showed that the Risanto and Johnson Toshack formulas were compatible in estimating the baby's birth weight (p-value 0.497 and 0.377). The average difference between the TBJ of Risanto's theory and the baby's weight is 34.42 grams, while the average difference between the TBJ of Johnson Toshack's formula is 171.15 grams. The test results comparing the accuracy of the Risanto formula and the Johnson Toshack formula, the average value of TBJ Johnson Toshack is greater than the average value of TBJ Risanto, and TBJ Risanto is closer to the baby's birth weight. The conclusion of this study shows that Risanto's TBJ measurement is more accurate than Johnson's TBJ Toshack. Measurement TBJ uses the Risanto formula that health workers can apply to detect fetal well-being, including estimated fetal weight during pregnancy and delivery.

Abstract

One of the problems that occurs during adolescence is risky sexual behavior. This problem tends to be carried out by groups of teenagers aged 15-21 years. Risky sexual behavior can have impacts, including pregnancy at a young age. Currently the incidence of teenage pregnancy in Indonesia is 48 per 1,000 women. Survey results (2020) show that teenagers in Jambi Province who commit sexual acts are at risk of 68.1%, risky sex for teenagers consists of holding hands and being embraced by a boyfriend 42.2%, lip kissing 23.1%, petting and intercourse 2.8%. This deviation in sexual behavior occurs as a result of the adolescent's lack of ability to exercise self-control caused by a lack of knowledge about the impacts resulting from their sexual behavior and understanding of religion and applicable norms. This research aims to determine the influence of health promotion using animated video media on adolescent knowledge about risky sexual behavior. This research is pre-experimental research with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 10 Jambi City with a population of 216 people, a sample of 63 participants. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires, then analyzed univariately and bivariately using the wilcoxon test. The results showed that the mean knowledge score of the respondents before the intervention was 4.75 and after the intervention, the mean knowledge score of the respondents was 9.22. It can be concluded that there is an influence of health promotion using animated video media on teenagers' level of knowledge about risky sexual behavior with a score of ⁇ 0.001. It is hoped that further research can be carried out with the development of better reproductive health animated video media and different materials so that teenagers are more responsible for their reproductive health

Abstract

Knowledge of menstrual physiology is crucial for midwifery students. Menstrual physiology encompasses vital information regarding ovulation periods, fertile windows, and related hormones. A lack of understanding can lead to inaccuracies in providing patient education and risks reinforcing misconceptions about menstruation. Technology-based learning media, such as animated videos and e-books, are options to enhance student knowledge. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of video and e-book learning media on knowledge of menstrual physiology among Applied Bachelor of Midwifery students. This research employed a quasi-experimental two-group pretest-posttest design. The study was conducted at the Department of Midwifery, Poltekkes Kemenkes Jambi. The population consisted of 60 fifth-semester midwifery students. Using a total sampling technique, 60 participants were divided into two groups: the odd-numbered attendance group (30 students) as the Video group and the even-numbered attendance group (30 students) as the E-book group. The results indicated that both video and e-book media significantly influenced the increase in student knowledge, with a p-value of 0.001<0.05. Regarding the comparison of effectiveness between the two, the mean difference was 1.10 with a p-value of 0.12>0.05, indicating no significant difference between the two media. Both video and e-book media are effective for use as learning tools. The selection and utilization of these media should be tailored to the learning preferences and needs of the students.
