Abstract

Babies with asphyxia will be able to survive if they get the right treatment. In order to produce graduates who are skilled in asphyxia relief, it is necessary to develop learning media that attract students' interest in learning. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using pocket book media on neonatal resuscitation skills in the fourth semester of applied midwifery undergraduate students. This research is a quantitative research with a pilot study design with a comparative posttest only control design method. The sample in this study was the total population, namely 38 undergraduate students of applied midwifery in the fourth semester. Data analysis using Wilcoxon and Mann Withney test. The results showed that before being given Learning using Video Media, the mean value of student knowledge was 6.53, then after the intervention changed to 9.89, with a P-value <0.05. Before being given learning using pocket book media, the mean value was 6.68, then after the intervention the mean value became 9.95 with P-value <0.05. The results of the Mann Withney test obtained a P-value = 0.55. The conclusion of the study is that both learning media are effective in increasing students' knowledge of neonatal resuscitation in students of Health Polytechnic, Ministry of Health, Jambi, undergraduate program of applied midwifery in the fourth semester.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of birth ball therapy on mothers giving birth to the pain intensity of the first active phase of labor. The method used was quasi-experimental with a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 40 mothers during the first active phase at PMB Nuriman Rafida, Jambi City, who were selected by accidental sampling. Research data were analyzed using paired t-tests. The results showed that most of the pain intensity of the mother before the study was carried out was in a severe category. After the intervention using a birth ball, the majority of the pain intensity of the mother in labor was in the moderate category (p-value = 0.000). In conclusion, there is an effect of birth ball therapy on reducing the intensity of labor pain during the first active phase. Abstract

Infants aged 0-6 months need adequate nutritional intake to support growth and development. These nutritional needs are highly dependent on breast milk (ASI). In breastfeeding mothers, problems often occur such as insufficient milk production and mothers do not understand the correct lactation management. Lactagogum and vitamin A play a role to help increase milk production. One of the fruits that contain laktagogum is young papaya, and carrots are foodstuffs that contain vitamin A. Young papaya and carrots are easily available foodstuffs. When the initial survey was conducted, most of the posyandu cadres and breastfeeding mothers in Kademangan village did not know the benefits of young papaya and carrots to help increase breast milk production for children. Community empowerment activities through posyandu are one solution to increase community knowledge in the use of young papaya and carrots to help increase production. This service activity was carried out in Kademangan Village, Jambi District outside the City, aiming to increase public knowledge in the use of young papaya and carrots to help increase breast milk production for breastfeeding mothers. The target of service is posyandu cadres (how many prang) and 30 nursing mothers. The flow of service before the activity was carried out by a pretest, then counseling and pocket books were given, followed by the practice of processing food made from young papaya and carrots, then a post test was carried out. The results of the activity showed an increase in the average score of knowledge in general before and after providing counseling to posyandu cadres and breastfeeding mothers. The average score of prior knowledge of posyandu cadres before the intervention was 7.60 increased to 9.80 and the average score of early knowledge of breastfeeding mothers was 7.60 increased to 9.86.
