Abstract

AbstractModernism and Postmodernis design theories are commonly used as the basic thinking of any design today, whereas one of the most vivid examples is in furniture design, chair. Chair designs have made through a lot of the development, where function is not the only design factor, but cultural element is definitely the added value of it, such as Y chair designed Hans J.  Wegner which was  inspired from dinasti MIng AbstrakTeori desain Modernism dan Posmodernism banyak digunakan sebagai pola pikir desain sampai saat ini, dan salah aplikasi desain yang paling nyata adalah kursi. Desain Kursi mengalami banyak perkembangan  yang tidak hanya mengutamakan sisi fungsi , tetapi juga memasukkan visual elemen budaya sebagai nilai tambah, seperti Y chair yang didesain oleh Hans J Wegner yang terinpirasi dari dinasti Ming
