Abstract

Coconut (Cocos nucifera. L) is a plant that is very useful in the life of the rural economy. Because all parts of the coconut tree could be utilized to meet human needs. One part of the coconut that has many benefits is the coconut meat in the capture milk to be made in pure coconut oil. Aim of this study was to determine the characteristics (yield, degree of clarity and composition of fatty acids) in the VCO coconut harvested at various heights a place to grow. This research was conducted in the territory high level 0-50, 100-150 and 200-250 m above sea level in the district of Parigi Moutong In the Laboratory of Agricultural Technology Faculty of Agriculture, University Tadulako. Implementation of the study began in December 2015 - March 2016. The study design was used way completely randomized design (CRD) with the treatment of the harvested fruit in 3 grades altitude growing ie 1 = 0-50 meters above sea level, 2 = 100-150 meters asl, 3 = 200-250 meters above sea level. Each treatment was repeated five times. The research were showed altitude 0-50 m above sea level provide the highest daily temperatures were significantly different from the temperature elevation 100-150 and 200-250 m above sea level.Key words : Coconut, Virgin Coconut Oil, and Level Growing

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effects of growth regulators (ZPT) Growtone on pineapple seed growth (Ananas comosus L). The research used a Randomized Block design with seven treatmentsconsisting of without plant growth regulator, concentration 2 g Growtone/stem cutting,4 g Growtone/stem cutting,6 g Growtone/stem cutting, 8 g Growtone/ stem cutting, 10 g Growtone/stem cutting dan 12 g Growtone/stem cutting.All treatments were replicated 3 times, so there were 21 experimental units. The observation variables included plant height, leaf number, root length, and total fresh weight. Theconcentrations of theplant growth regulator (ZPT) Growtone at 2-12 g/stem cutting resulted in higher plant height, larger number of leaves and roots, longer root and largert fresh weight of the plant than without the growth regulator.

Abstract

Handling the rice harvest has contributee to the national rice production. Crop yield losses due to handling imperfect reached 20.51%. If the national rice production reached 54.34 million tons, then the loss is equivalent to Rp15 trillion. Therefore, this study aims to compare the income of rice farmers between power thresher harvester machine users and combine harvester machine users in sub district panca rijang in the district of sidrap. This includes how to harvest, cutting, gathering and threshing of grain as well as differences in the wage system. The total population of this study was 1.060, which include 53 the combined farmer groups (Gapoktan). In addition, each combined farmer groups consist of 20 and it was randomly taken of 5 farmers. This study applying calculation formula by 26.5 x 5 = 132.5. Then, it was devided by 2 so that there were 66 refresented farmers of thresher power users and combine harvester rice farmers users respectively. Following that, Slovin formula was used by nominating 39.75 respondents or rounded by 80 respondents. The data was collected through documentation, interviews and questionnaires. The cost and the profit of farmers can be determined by using analytical tools, such as, π = TR - TC. The hypotheses were tested by using different test independent and paired difference test (SPSS version 18). This study found that the income of rice  farmers who applied power thresher was Rp. 17,503,733.36 / ha, while rice farmers combine harvester users was Rp. 22,095,914.38 / ha. There was high proportion of the income of rice farmers by 26.2% / ha. The output of SPSS version 18 shows a probability value of 0.000 <0.05 at 95% confidence level test in both directions. This means that this study reject the null hypothesis. Thus,  there is a significant difference of the rice farmers income between power thresher harvesting machine users and combine harvester machine users.
