Abstract

National integration issue is inherently dynamic and tends to follow the social changes. It is because the problem cannot be taken for granted. This situation is also very dependent on the way and the tendency of a political regime to understand and treat the aspirations of the people in a particular space and time. Based on this matter, this paper analyzes the government's efforts to create national integration in Papua (social, economic, political conditions) and how Papuans interpret the post-New York 1962 integration process, the 1969 Act until the first four years after the Act. Based on the structuralist approach and the theory of political integration, it was found that since Papuans began to adapt to Indonesians, they experienced a new atmosphere, such as the Indonesian government system which is different from the Dutch colonial government. The social, political, and economic life must undergo a period of quarantine which is primarily determined by the interests of the authorities. This situation encourages groups that have certain interests in society. There are Indonesian pro-integration groups, and there are anti-integration groups that manifest themselves in the Free Papua Organization (OPM), and some other social protest movements to date.

Abstract

The family is the first place for children to get an education. Through the parents, the educational process is important values for the development of the child. Children will learn about the values of moral, spiritual, and ethical through parents. These values develop along with growing up of children. Therefore, the pattern of parenting becomes important values in delivering identity of the child to adulthood. The above conditions will occur in intact families but unlike the single parent family. Children who are raised by single parents feared to bring harm to the child's development, or education. Thus, a single parent will struggle to do the maximum care, in order to dispel such concerns.Based on that researchers aim to conduct an analysis of parenting within the nuclear family (single parent). The implication of this study is to determine the pattern of education and guidance to children. This study used a qualitative approach with research subjects a single parent that has school-age children. Based on the analysis of research data which obtained the findings that: (1) single parent education related to parent's responsibilities to children, teaching methods applied in family environment, educational tools used and values education, and (2) parental guidance to children tend to religious guidance, social, academic, career and motivation.

Abstract

The New Order regime's way of resolving the problem of Papua's national integration did not produce desirable results. The New Order regime, with its authoritarian and centralized practices, has provided valuable lessons for the nation. This study is a review of political history that aimed to analyze the national integration issues in several areas in Papua, which has not been resolved during the 21 years of Special Autonomy in Papua. The results of the study showed that the situation of the Papuan during the New Order Regime influenced the national integration of Papuans during the Special Autonomy implementation.  The issue of Papua's national integration during the New Order regime and the Special Autonomy implementation in the Reformation era was an anomaly in the truth because the truth was determined by the ruler (hegemonic authority). The special autonomy has accelerated the development of Papua, but also created discrimination between tribes and groups in social, cultural, economic, and political life. Learning from history, to avoid making the same mistakes in the future, the humanist approach taken by the church can be a solution to unify the differences between Papuan "Komen" and migrants "Amber." The church teaches the value of love, peace, sacrifice, and unifying forgiveness. Reconciliation with the memory of the sufferings of the Papuan is a bridge that connects the Papuan to a dignified life as part of Indonesia. Papua's Special Autonomy is a nationwide process to improve itself and a path toward the goal of realizing the ideals of the proclamation. Alignment to basic human needs, following the noble ideals of the August 17, 1945, Proclamation of Independence, allows Papuans not to question or doubt the integration of Papua into the Republic of Indonesia.
