Abstract

COVID-19 is an infectious disease. COVID-19 patients will experience anxiety, thus disturbing the patient's sleep quality. Pharmacological therapy given in the long term poses a risk to the health of the body. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of progressive muscle relaxation in COVID-19 patients to reduce anxiety and improve sleep quality. The studies were identified systematic by searching the database with the keywords “COVID-19 AND Anxiety AND Sleep Quality AND progressive Muscle Relaxation.” The results consist of Web of Science 3 articles, Scopus 3 articles, Science Direct 135 and Pro Quest 501 articles. Eligible articles were selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, COVID-19 patients with anxiety and sleep disturbances as well as with PMR intervention and articles published in English based on the last 3 years study. In assessing the bias and methodological quality of this study using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) critical appraisal checklist tool. From 642 references, after a selection there were 5 references describing in detail progressive muscle relaxation exercises that could be used together with pharmacological during treatment in isolation rooms. Progressive muscle relaxation exercises are performed 2 times a day, in the morning and before going to bed, with a duration of 20-30 minutes. Progressive muscle relaxation significant reduces anxiety and improves sleep quality in COVID-19 patients during isolation treatment.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes Mellitus Tpe 2 (T2DM) is a lifelong disease, while suffering from the disease patients will experience diabetes distress (DD) which causes negative emotions: anxiety, stress, depression. Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) intervention helps patients in dealing with DD problems whose implementation does not require drug medication, in its implementation CBT has various sessions and each session has a different topic. Methods: This study used literature review and PRISMA method from 6 electronic databases (Cochrane Library, Ebsco Host, Proquest, PubMed, Sage Journal, Sciendirect, Scopus, Springer, Web Of Science.) n=4541, the search was conducted to find the effectiveness of CBT in reducing the level of DD in T2DM patients. Risk of bias was assessed using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) critical appraisal tools checklist. Results: A total of 5 articles met the inclusion criteria of 5 articles with the Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) method Respondents in the study were T2DM patients who were divided into 2 research groups (intervention and control). The results showed a difference in DD levels between the two groups. Conclusion: There is a significant effect on reducing the level of DD in patients with T2DM. The advantages of CBT intervention are not using pharmacological drugs, cost-effective, and easy to use. In addition, CBT intervention has the advantage that its flexible use can be adjusted to the needs and needs of the patients.

Abstract

Background: The habit of smoking in adolescents is indeed a problem that needs special attention, considering the impact on health where lung function will experience impaired development. The social aspect of smoking behavior for adolescents can cause adverse effects for passive smokers because the risks borne by passive smokers are more dangerous than active smokers. Methods: The research design in this article is a literature review, by searching several literature sources in the form of research journals using databases such as: Ebsco Host, PubMed, Google Schoolar, elsevier, and Springer. By using the search keywords: Hypnotherapy, smoking, and adolescents. The year limitation used is from 2020 to 2024. The language used is Indonesian and English, free journals are not paid. Results: Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, hypnotherapy intervention has an influence on reducing smoking consumption habits in adolescent children. Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, hypnotherapy intervention shows the benefits in changing the subconscious of adolescents to stop or reduce the habit of consuming cigarettes

Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic condition requiring effective self-care to prevent complications. However, many patients struggle with self-care due to limited health literacy, inadequate resources, and socio-cultural barriers. Objective: This systematic review examined the effectiveness of Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) interventions in improving self-care, glycemic control, and quality of life for individuals with type 2 diabetes. Methods: Following PRISMA guidelines, a search across multiple databases (2018-2025) identified 12 eligible experimental or quasi-experimental studies. The results consistently demonstrated that DSME significantly improved diabetes outcomes. Result and Discussion: Participants showed enhanced self-efficacy, dietary adherence, self-care behaviors, and glycemic control (HbA1c reductions of 0.6% to 1.1%). Quality of life also improved, with some studies reporting a 7.2-fold increase in the likelihood of better health-related quality of life among DSME participants. Furthermore, innovative and contextually adapted delivery methods, such as SMS, booklets, and culturally specific models like “PASTI SEMBUH,” proved highly feasible and acceptable, particularly in resource-limited settings. Conclusion: DSME is a powerful, evidence-based intervention In conclusion, DSME is a powerful, evidence-based intervention that improves clinical outcomes, quality of life, and self-care capacity in individuals with type 2 diabetes. Integrating diverse and contextually relevant DSME methods into national health strategies, especially in low- and middle-income countries, is crucial for wider reach and effectiveness.

Abstract

Needle-free jet injection (NFJI) is a needleless method for insulin delivery in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients. This study evaluates NFJI's effectiveness in controlling blood glucose. In this study, we conducted a systematic review following the PRISMA guidelines, searching six databases (EBSCO Host, ProQuest, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Scopus, and Web of Science). The search yielded a total of 379 articles. We used the following keywords: "Jet injection," "Injection Ject," "Needle-Free Injection," "Insulin," "Diabetes Mellitus Type 2," "Diabetes Type 2," "Type 2 Diabetes," and "Blood Glucose" to identify relevant studies. The aim was to investigate the effectiveness of insulin jet NFJI in controlling blood glucose levels in T2DM patients. We assessed the risk of bias using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) critical appraisal tools checklist. Out of the 379 articles identified, only seven met the inclusion criteria. Among these, six articles employed the Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) method, while one article used a quasi-experimental design. Respondents in the study consisted of T2DM patients who were divided into two research groups: the intervention group and the control group. The results indicated a significant difference in blood glucose control values between the two groups. NFJI insulin method significantly improves glucose control. It offers advantages like painless, scar-free, low drug preparation, reusability, ease of use, and minimal disease transmission. Recommended for long-term T2DM treatment.
