Abstract

In west Kalimantan, commodities corn have important role in the economy sector commodities for fodder. District Bengkayang as a central production of corn which is in the province of west Kalimantan about 30.621 ha. Recent years production of corn district Bengkayang had little one caused by the difficulty to obtain preminent seed varieties. This research was conducted to find out the power of adaptation of several varieties of corn to be developed in the region of Bengkayang. This study was carried out in villages Suka Maju, sub –district Sungai Betung, begins in May-September 2013. This assessment method using average analysis of component production. Land area used is 1.5 ha using five varieties; Bima 3, Bima 14, Lamuru, Povit A, and Bima 19. The results of the test adaptation done in five varieties obtained highest varieties bima 4 worth 5,28 ton per ha followed by Bima 13, Lamuru, Provit A and Bima  19 each 5.17 ton per ha, 5.06 ton per ha, 4,90 ton per  ha and 4.10 ton per ha. Especially for the development of varieties bima 4 and 13 it indeed needs seeds there is an effort to provide continuity the availability of quality seeds and guaranteeing seed.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to ascertain the impact of motivation, teamwork, and work discipline on employee performance at the Environmental Law Enforcement and Forestry Security Office in Sumatra. In this study a quantitative descriptive methodology was used. The research encompasses a population of 350 individuals, from which a sample of 100 has been chosen. The independent variables consist of Motivation (X1), Teamwork (X2), and Work Discipline (X3), and the dependent variable is Work Performance (Y). In this study the datas were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The research findings indicate that Motivation and Work Discipline have a substantial influence on staff performance at the Environmental Law Enforcement and Forestry Security Office in Sumatra. The results suggest that motivation, cooperation, and work discipline collectively account for 68.2% of the influence on employee performance at the Environmental Law Enforcement and Forestry Security Office in Sumatra. The remaining 31.8%.

Abstract

Shallots are one of the horticultural commodities that have fluctuating prices. Market integration occurs horizontally but not vertically due to poor information systems at the producer and consumer levels. This study aimed to estimate the area of shallot land quickly using the rapid classification of croplands method. The research was conducted in Merek District, Karo Regency, North Sumatra. Primary data obtained from survey activities were processed using the Google Earth Engine platform. Classification and regression trees (CART) and random forest (RF) algorithms were used to classify land cover as onion and non-onion classes. The shallot land area based on this method was 74.4 hectares, with an area accuracy of 95% (RF) and 24% (CART) and a location accuracy of 92% (CART and RF). The rapid classification of croplands method can estimate land area quickly. It helps stakeholders who need information on shallot production projections and can be developed to improve the vertical market integration information system (market integration between producers and consumers). Some areas for improvement of this method are limited access and resolution, inability to describe up to the level of garden bunds, and the condition of the area covered by clouds, which will affect the accuracy of the results. Keywords: shallots, production estimation, google earth engine, remote sensing
