Abstract

Cultural arts are one of the important fields that studies human life activities. Cultural art being a human parameter is different from other creatures. So, research on cultural arts has developed and expanded over the centuries. Thus, the research departs from curiosity about the growing research trends in the field of cultural arts, especially in the ASEAN region. This study uses a bibliometric approach to see the research productivity of each country in the ASEAN region. So that it can be reviewed the development of research trends, especially in the last ten years in ASEAN countries. In addition, the results of the data analysis obtained will also be visualized using VOSviewer. This was done to see the clusters found related to cultural arts research in each ASEAN country. countries with many studies are significantly compared to countries with minimal research. The data used is sourced from the Scopus database. From the research carried out, it was found that countries with many studies are significantly compared to countries with minimal research. In addition, most of the documents are in the form of articles. In terms of clustering research themes, it was found that the results of visualizations that countries with many documents would produce a variety of research themes with diverse item relationships. So that there are still many research opportunities related to Cultural Arts that can be done by utilizing a variety of items resulting from clustering.

Abstract

Paper waste is the most produced waste in the field of education. No exception with the visual language courses held at STSRD VISI. In one semester, the visual language course requires a lot of paper use, where the paper is only used once. From these problems, visual language courses then apply the blended learning model whose method combines face-to-face and online methods using Google Classroom to deliver material and assignments. The results of implementing this blended learning model significantly reduce the number of paper used in visual language courses.

Abstract

Japanese propaganda matchboxes is one of the propaganda media used by Japan in its effort to get the hearts and attention of Indonesian people. This matchbox is producted on 1942-1945 with varied themed on each series, this research will spesifically discuss about series 101. As a propaganda media, this matchbox unconsciously is one of visual communication design product from the illustration, message delivery to the audience through design and its own function as a packaging. Thus, this research was conducted to reveal the meaning behind the design of the Japanese propaganda matchbox series 101. The research of meaning in this qualitative research is carried out with an approach to art critism according to Edmund Burke Feldman. The result of this research is the design of Japanese propaganda matchbox series 101 was produced in 1994 and designed by Takashi Kono. If assessed in term of quality, the visual element in this lable is harmoniously arranged and create a balanced and unified design. The color has a high contrast, the typography used is san-serif which has high readability and legibility, and the object of illustration is made as closely as possible to the actual object so it can be easily understood. All the visual elements displayed on the design has a connection with the main theme and purpose of this matchbox label is to restore Indonesian people trust because on 1944, Japan situation in battlefield is getting worse and there’s a rumor that Japan has defeated in the war, with some hope that they will get Indonesian people trust again and Indonesian people have some initiative to help Japan in the war. Compare to the previous series of the matches, this series emphasize the atmosphere of war and victory in war over America, Britain and China.
