Abstract

Most of the 1st grade students of Starlight Tuition 1 Tulungagung have difficulty in mastering English material, especially numbers. Therefore, researchers conducted research using the Video Based Learning method to facilitate mastery of the material. This study aims to describe how animated videos can improve the ability of first graders of Starlight Tuition in mastering numbers. This study involved 32 subjects from grade 1 students of Starlight Tutition 1 Tulungagung. Like other Classroom Action Research, this research also goes through 4 stages those are planning, action, observation, and reflection. During this research, the researcher also acts as the teacher. This research stopped in cycle 1 only because the students' test results were sufficient and met the criteria of success. After doing research and testing, the post test results greatly improved. In the pre-test, the total score of students was 2210 and the number of students who took the test was 32. The mean of students was 69.06. 13 children did not meet the criteria for success. But in the post-test, the total score of students was 2990 and the number of students was 32 students. The mean of students was 93.44. Only 4 children met the criteria for failure.Keywords: numbers, video-based learning, classroom action research

Abstract

Teaching English for young learner is not a simple thing. They need different treatment in learning new things especially new language. Some teachers use games, videos, songs, etc. The researcher made an animated movie about “Numbers”. It can be used to teach first grade students to learn Numbers in English from one to ten. The researcher wants to know whether the video made is effective or not to teach first grade students in Starlight Tuition. The result is animated video is effective to teach vocabulary especial “Numbers” to young learner.

Abstract

Interactive Worksheets are a digital learning tool designed to facilitate students’ active participation in the learning process through a variety of interactive activities, including matching vocabulary with images, listening exercises, sentence completion, and context based tasks. This study aims to describe the development process and evaluate the feasibility of interactive worksheet-based learning media for English lessons for fourth-grade students at Alam Mutiara Umat Elementary School. The media was developed using the ADDIE model, which consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The product was designed to support English language learning through interactive activities such as matching vocabulary with pictures, listening exercises, completing sentences, and word-matching tasks. The participants involved in this study were 28 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through expert validation, classroom observations, student interviews, questionnaires, and post-implementation test results. The findings showed that the developed interactive worksheet was categorized as very valid based on material and media expert evaluations. In addition, students demonstrated positive responses toward the media, indicating increased participation, learning motivation, and engagement during classroom activities. Therefore, the interactive worksheet is considered a feasible and effective alternative medium for supporting English language learning at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Menulis sering kali dianggap sebagai kemampuan yang sulit bagi mahasiswa, terutama dalam menciptakan gagasan dan mengembangkan konten. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas penggunaan film pendek dalam mengajarkan pengembangan konten penulisan kepada mahasiswa semester dua di Universitas Bhinneka PGRI. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pra-eksperimental yang melibatkan satu kelompok yang diuji sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 20 mahasiswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes penulisan subjektif pada teks narasi pribadi yang dinilai menggunakan rubrik berbasis konten. Analisis data dilakukan secara statistik dengan alat uji Paired Sample T-Test menggunakan SPSS 26 setelah memenuhi syarat normalitas, homogenitas, dan linearitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan secara statistik pada skor penulisan mahasiswa setelah intervensi. Uji menunjukkan nilai signifikan sebesar 0,001 (p < 0,05) dengan nilai t-hitung -5,548. Akibatnya, Hipotesis Nol (H0) ditolak dan Hipotesis Alternatif (Ha) diterima. Sebagai kesimpulan, film pendek berfungsi sebagai alat multimodal yang efektif dalam membantu mahasiswa mengatasi kebuntuan menulis, merancang alur, dan menghasilkan karya yang terstruktur dengan baik.
