Abstract

This research is motivated by the low critical thinking skills of fourth grade elementary school students, such as difficulty analyzing problems, expressing logical opinions, and drawing conclusions. This is caused by an inappropriate learning model so that students are less active in solving problems. Efforts made are implementing a Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by realia media so that students learn through real problems and concrete objects. This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by realia media on students' critical thinking skills, the effect of the Inquiry model assisted by YouTube video media on the control class, and the differences in critical thinking skills of the two classes. The method used is a quasi-experiment with the Matching-Only Pre-test-Post-test Control Group Design, involving 24 students of Neglasari State Elementary School and 22 students of Mekarsari State Elementary School. The results show an increase in average scores in both classes, with the post-test of the experimental class (42.58) higher than the control class (27.90). The significance value of 0.000 is smaller than 0.005 so that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. It can be concluded that there are differences in critical thinking skills between students who use the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model and those who use the Inquiry model assisted by YouTube video media. Abstract

The concept of local wisdom has become a significant strategic basis for culturally based education in Indonesia, though the structure of intellectual form and the developmental course of research in this area have yet to be fully synthesized. The paper explores the development and intellectual architecture of local wisdom research in Indonesian education between 2010 and 2025 through an inter-woven bibliometric and systematic approach. Based on PRISMA procedures, 132 studies were selected from 575 records of Scopus-indexed journal articles. The growth of publications, most popular journals, institutional productivity, and international contributions were analyzed using bibliometric mapping, and qualitative thematic synthesis identified the prevalent research clusters and theoretical orientations. According to the findings, a significant growth trend can be observed in recent years, and scholarship is concentrated mostly in Indonesian institutions, with a predominance of the sociocultural and constructivist approaches. Five important thematic areas were identified, reflecting an inclination toward pedagogical application. The paper finds that although the field is growing very fast, it is nationally confined and theoretically fragmented. This study provides intellectual scaffolding and strategic pathways for more rigorous and globally active scholarship by mapping the intellectual architecture of the field.

Abstract

Awareness among Indonesian society regarding plastic use and its management remains alarmingly low. This highlights an urgent need to strengthen sustainability education and responsible environmental practices. The implementation of the Plastic Pollution Management Worksheet uses a practicum-based method to foster greater sustainability awareness by integrating critical reflection and problem-solving strategies in addressing plastic pollution. This hands-on approach also encourages pro-environmental behavioural changes among learners. This study seeks to evaluate the impact of the Plastic Pollution Management Worksheet in practicum on students' sustainability awareness before and after its use. A one-group pre-test and post-test design was adopted, involving 40 university students, with a self-efficacy questionnaire used to assess five key indicators of sustainability awareness. The findings indicate that the implementation of practicum with the Plastic Pollution Management Worksheet had a moderate impact on enhancing students' sustainability awareness, with the most notable improvements observed in cognitive awareness (understanding sustainability concepts) and social engagement. Although improvements were noted across all dimensions, the development of sustainable behavioural changes requires further time and reinforcement. In conclusion, the practicum with Plastic Pollution Management Worksheet demonstrates potential as an innovative pedagogical strategy in sustainability education, though its effectiveness could be maximised by integrating it with other complementary educational approaches.
