This article aims to looks at the pattern of the relations built by the Confucians community and the practices of peace that are applied.  As a minority religious group, The Confucians community in Ampenan  cannot be separated from their efforts to survive with the adaptation strategies that are carried out. The intended adaptation strategy is the pattern of relationships that are built. Using a qualitative research method where the data collection process uses the method of observation, interviews and documentation. With the help of AGIL theory, this article also finds that the adaptation made by the Confucians is an merely an adaptation to the economic activity’s as an primary aspect. The practice of peace that is applied is also with the economic aspect. This partially refutes AGIL's theoretical framework by looking at Goal Attainment, the integration and built latency do not reach their ideal point. The main  reason why the Confucians chose the economic aspect over the religious aspect was to evade the unsuccesful story between Hindu-Muslims which failed to build the relationship pattern through the pattern of marriage relation.s The effective pattern of relations in maintaining the harmony of the people in the Simpang Lima Ampenan Mataram area is through the economical aspect

Abstract

This article aims to re-investigate the Jihad movement of ex-terrorist convicts among the caregivers and teachers of the as-Salam Tahfidzul Quran Islamic boarding school in the Red Zone area of Bima-Dompu, Eastern Indonesia. This article focuses on two things by using a phenomenological qualitative approach, namely: (1) investigating the Jihad movement transformation of the ex-terrorist convicts among as-Salam Tahfidz Quran Islamic boarding school caretakers/teachers, (2) examining negative prejudice against as-Salam Tahfidzul Quran Islamic boarding school as "Terrorist School". The data in this article were collected using observation, participation, interview and documentation techniques which are analyzed inductively. The fieldwork on the study of religious movements in this article shows two significant results. First, the understanding and movement of Jihad for the ex-terrorist convicts among the caretakers/teachers of as-Salam Tahfidzul Quran Bima-Dompu Islamic Boarding School has changed and transformed Jihad from "taking up arms" to "Amar Makruf Nahi Mungkar" which pursued through education. Second, the increment of highly negative prejudice towards  As-Salam Tahfidzul Quran Bima-Dompu Islamic Boarding School as a "Terrorist School" among the large community due to the lack of communication from the government to the community regarding the developments of the ex-convicts and the safety assurance of them being in the community after they have served their prison term. Through a significant academic analysis, this article draws a temporary conclusion that Bima-Dompu NTB is no longer a terrorist Red Zone area.

Abstract

This article presents a critical and comparative reflection on the trajectory of Islamic studies, from the Golden Age and the period of decline to the emergence of contemporary Muslim thinkers. During the Golden Age, particularly under the Abbasid dynasty, the integration of religion, philosophy, and science established the Islamic world as a global center of civilization, making significant contributions to the development of knowledge. However, this intellectual flourishing declined due to internal factors such as political disintegration, the dominance of rigid orthodoxy, and the loss of ijtihad. The Mongol invasion and Western colonialism further accelerated the stagnation of Islamic scholarship. Critical reflections by classical and modern thinkers such as Ibn Khaldun, Jamaluddin al-Afghani, Muhammad Abduh, and Muhammad Iqbal emphasized that the revival of the Muslim world required epistemological renewal, educational reform, and rational engagement. In the contemporary context, scholars such as Fazlur Rahman with his double movement theory, Malek Bennabi with his civilization paradigm, Ali Shariati with his revolutionary approach, and Amin Abdullah with his integration-interconnection paradigm have offered new methodological perspectives relevant to the challenges of modernity. The study concludes that the revival of Islamic studies demands epistemological openness, scientific innovation, and multidisciplinarity to address global issues while maintaining the relevance of Islamic values in modern civilization.
