Abstract

The scoring system used in the management of critical patients has been introduced and developed since more than 30 years. The system allows assessment of disease severity and provides a prediction of mortality in the hospital. The scoring system consists of outcome prediction scores (APACHE, SAPS, MPM) and organ dysfunction scores (SOFA, MODS). In addition, the scoring system is also divided based on data collection methods, namely: anatomical score, therapeutic weighted score, specific organs, physiological assessment, simple scale (simple), and specific diseases. APACHE, SAPS, MPM, SOFA and MODS are scores that are often used in the ICU, these scores have a certain specificity and level of discrimination, where these scores are still being developed taking into account local conditions and the use of drugs to support the cardiovascular taking into account local conditions and the use of drugs to support the cardiovascular system, . In conclusion, the Severity of Illness score is a tool designed to predict and evaluate, from various perspectives, to predict patient outcomes. Most scoring systems are the result of multivariate regression analysis applied to large databases to identify the most relevant factors in predicting mortality.

Abstract

Herbal plants that can be used as antimicrobials are noni fruit (Morinda citrifolia). The fruit contains saponins, flavonoids, essential oils, and alkaloids, which have potential as antimicrobials, in noni fruit. The type of research used is a literature study review. The study literature review is a summary obtained from a reading source such as books, scientific journals, and other media publications relating to the discussion of research in order to answer questions or existing problems. A literature search was performed on electronic sources such as Google Scholar, PubMed, and Garuda Portal which have met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Based on search results by entering the word the key obtained as many as 906 articles and only 3 articles that meet the requirements. The results of the study can be concluded that noni fruit (Morinda citrifolia) can be used as antimicrobial and phytochemical compounds in Noni fruit which has the potential as an antimicrobial are flavonoids, saponins, essential oils, terpenoids, alkaloids, scopoletin, ascorbic acid, beta carotene, l-arginine, and proxeronine.

Abstract

Tomatoes contain compounds that act as natural antioxidants and are useful toward off free radicals. Tomatoes can be used as a basic ingredient in the development of facial cosmetics in the form of face mist. The purpose of this study was to determine the antioxidant activity of face mist tomato extract (Solanum lycopersicum L.). This study used quantitative methods with a descriptive research design. The organoleptic face mist has a yellow color with a distinctive oleum rosae aroma and is liquid. The homogeneity test results show all four homogeneous formulas. pH test results range from 4.71±0.005 to 5.68±0.015. The dry time test results were in the range of 2.39±0.015 – 3.12±0.015 minutes. The color test results on the face mist showed that it was positive for beta-carotene with a blue color. The IC50 value of face mist preparations at F0, F1, F2 and F3 was 208.488 ppm, 124.304 ppm, 73.683 ppm and 56.271 ppm, respectively. F0 face mist preparations are very weak antioxidants, F1 are moderate antioxidants, F2 and F3 are strong antioxidants. From this research can be concluded that the best formula to use F3.

Abstract

Avocado (Perseaamericana Mill) is a plant that grows widely in subtropical and tropical areas, one of which is Indonesia. The leaves of the avocado plant, which we can use as traditional medicine, are reported to be anti-bacterial and can inhibit the growth of several bacteria, including Staphylococcus aurus. The active substances contained in avocado leaves are flavonoids, quercetin and tannin which are useful as anti-bacterials and as a source of natural antioxidants. This study aims to determine the results of the physical test of the avocado leaf extract cream formula. This type of research is quantitative with a descriptive research design. In testing the cream, an organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, spreadability test, absorption test and adhesion test were carried out. The results obtained in the organoleptic test were seen from the yellowish brown color, the semi-solid dosage form, and the distinctive creamy smell of avocado leaves, the homogeneity test of the cream did not occur in phase separation, namely the water phase and the oil phase, the pH test of the cream had a pH of 7, the power test Spread the cream with a diameter of 6.1 cm, the cream's absorption test can absorb water optimally, and the cream's adhesion test obtains an adhesion time of 1.48 seconds. The physical test of the avocado leaf extract cream formula meets the requirements.

Abstract

Avocado leaves and jicama contain antioxidants. Topical use of antioxidants can reduce UVA radiation which can cause skin darkening. Utilization of avocado leaves and jicama is done by making a peel-off gel facial mask. This research was conducted to formulate and determine the physical quality of a gel peel-off facial mask combination of avocado and jicama leaf extracts. The quantitative experimental method was used and four formulas for varying the concentration of the active substance were prepared, with a comparison of the total extracts used, avocado and jicama leaf extracts. The combination of avocado leaf extract and jicama  can be formulated as a gel peel off facial mask, with the results of physical evaluation have met the requirements.
