Abstract

Children have a unique development process. This unique development comes from genetic factors that can be stimulated through play in order to optimize growth and development. Play is an important tool for children's social, emotional, cognitive development. The benefits of play are providing stimulation to children by increasing cognitive, controlling emotions, developing creativity, and others. Playing is one of the therapies in dealing with hyperactive children, where the therapy is through a puzzle game. Puzzle game therapy is one of the stimuli in which hyperactive children tend not to sit still, are impatient, and like to rebel. This research was conducted with the aim that through puzzle games children can improve their cognitive so that children are patient and diligent in arranging them, sitting, and focusing on the puzzle. This research is classroom action research. The subjects of this study were children aged 4-5 years. While the data collection techniques are observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis techniques were obtained from field data, analyzed through descriptive qualitative. The results of the research in the first cycle was 30%, then the first cycle of the second meeting increased by 50%. %. In the second cycle of the first meeting, the results were 75%, in the second cycle of the second meeting the data rose to 95%. Looking at the data, it can be concluded that playing puzzles can develop children's cognitive abilities for the better or increase.Anak memiliki proses perkembangan yang unik. Perkembangan unik itu berasal dari faktor genetis yang dapat  dirangsang melalui bermain agar tumbuh kembangnya menjadi optimal. Bermain yang merupakan alat penting untuk perkembangan sosial, emosional, kognitif anak. Manfaat bermain yaitu memberikan rangsangan kepada anak dengan meningkatkan kognitif, mengendalikan emosi, mengembangkan kreativitas dan lain-lain. Bermain merupakan salah satu terapi dalam menangani anak hiperaktif , dimana terapi tersebut melalui sebuah permainan puzzle. Terapi permainan puzzle merupakan salah satu rangsangan dimana kondisi anak hiperaktif cenderung tidak mau duduk tenang, tidak sabar serta suka berontak. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan agar melalui permainan puzzle anak dapat meningkat kognitifnya agar anak sabar dan tekun dalam merangkainya, duduk dan fokus pada puzzle tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan  penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian ini anak usia 4-5 tahun. Sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data diperoleh dari data dilapangan, dianalisis melalui deskriptif kualitatif.  Hasil penelitian pada siklus I sebesar 30%, selanjutnya siklus I pertemuan II meningkat hingga 50%. Pada siklus II pertemuan I didapatkan hasil 75%, pada siklus II pertemuan II data naik hingga 95%. Melihat data tersebut dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa bermain puzzle dapat mengembangkan kemampuan kognitif anak menjadi lebih baik lagi atau meningkat.
