Abstract

The way to break the chain of transferring stunting is the planting of healthy living and healthy consumption of balanced nutrition in young women, bearing in mind that the next generation of the nation will be strong and healthy if needed by mothers with health conditions. The development of an effective health promotion program through health education with the Android application is expected to provide information and assist young women to be better in their health, improve the health of young women, learn about nutrition, anemia, and healthy life behavior so that they can anticipate early stunting events. Multimedia counseling is a method of learning that involves audio, visual and discussion to make it more interesting and easy to understand. This study analyzed the explanation of multimedia counseling about the prevention of anemia on adolescent girls behavior to prevent anemia. This study used pretest-posttest with control group design, with a quasi-experimental. The study population was 259, the samples were 90 respondents who were assigned to two groups. The samples were selected by simple random sampling. Respondents were given multimedia counseling about anemia prevention, a behavioral questionnaire, and FFQ. A capillary blood test was conducted using Quik-Check, and the respondents were followed up every week and evaluated for 5 weeks. Results were tested using T-Test and linear regression. Multimedia counseling had an effect on knowledge (t = 3.097; CI = 95%; 2.229-10.215; p value = 0.003), attitude (t = 9.56; CI = 95%; 10.055-15.331; p value = 0.001), behavior (t = -2.22; CI = 95%; -4.628- -0.260; p value = 0.029), FFQ (t = -2.18; CI = 95%; -4.883 - -0.227; p value = 0.032) and BMI (t = -10.40; CI = 95%; - 5.094 - -3.460; p value 0.001) among adolescent girls in preventing anemia with R-Square of 0.952 (95%). There was an explanation of video counseling on the increase in knowledge, attitudes, behavior in preventing adolescent anemia. Provision of ongoing multimedia counseling and monitoring of female careers in preventing adolescent anemia needs to be improved. Therefore, the role of healthcare providers for monitoring and evaluation is very necessary.

Abstract

Background: Infant malnutrition remains a global public health problem, with 12.3% of infants worldwide affected according to the 2024 Joint Malnutrition Estimates. Birth weight is an important determinant of infant nutritional status and growth, therefore, this study examines the relationship between birth weight and the nutritional status of infants aged 1-6 months based on the BW/A index at TPMB Evi Fitrianti in 2025. Methods: This quantitative cross-sectional observational analytic study involved 32 infants aged 1-6 months selected by total sampling, with data collected from questionnaries, infant weight measurements, and KIA books or medical records, and analyzed using univariate analysis and Fisher’s Exact Test. Results: The majority of 3-month-old respondents (25.0%) were female (68.8%), and were breastfed (78.1%). Most infants (90.6%) were born with normal birth weight (BW), while 9.4% were classified as low birth weight (LW). The nutritional status of infants was generally good (93.8%), although 6.3% were classified as malnourished. Fisher's exact test showed a significant relationship (p = 0.006 < 0.05) between BW and nutritional status. Low birth weight infants are at higher risk of malnutrition due to immature energy reserves and immune systems. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between BW and nutritional status of infants aged 1-6 months, based on the BW/A index. Low birth weight infants are at higher risk of malnutrition. Early monitoring and intervention are needed to improve nutritional status, especially in low birth weight infants.

Abstract

ABSTRACT In Indonesia, the cesarean section (CS) delivery rate reaches 25.9%, with the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) ranking third highest at 38.1%. At Bhayangkara Police Hospital DIY, the trend of CS delivery continues to rise annually, primarily due to pathological factors during pregnancy. This study aimed to identify the determinants associated with CS delivery at the hospital. A cross-sectional study was conducted using total sampling of 389 medical records of mothers who delivered in 2023–2024. Data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate (Chi-square test), and multivariate (logistic regression) analyses. Most respondents had term pregnancies (90.2%), graduated from senior high school (86.9%), worked as housewives (79.2%), and were covered by the National Health Insurance (96.1%). Significant associations were found between CS history (p=0.000), premature rupture of membranes (p=0.003), and fetal distress (p=0.010) with CS delivery. In contrast, maternal age and parity showed no significant association. Multivariate analysis identified previous CS history as the most dominant factor, with a 6.69-fold increased risk of CS delivery. A history of cesarean section is the strongest determinant of CS delivery. Further research is recommended to expand the study scope and consider alternative research methods. Keywords: Cs, Delivery, Determinant.
