Abstract

The experiment was carried out to know the effect of supplemental dietary 17 methytetosterone (MT) on growth enhancement of red tilapia (Oreochromissp.). Fry smaller than 14 mm was given MT at 0 (control) and 60 mg/kg of feed for 28 days for masculinization. After masculinization, the fish were fef with MT at 0 (control), 1, 5, and 10 mg/kg of feed for 60 days to enhance the growth. The results showed that masculinization using MT at high dosage (60 mg/kg) was able to produce 96% of males fry at low dosage (1 – 10 mg/kg) also enhanced the growth of fishes. The highest growth rate 30% was observed at 10 mg MT/kg of feed. The growth enhancement was more effective in masculinized fry.

Abstract

Application of remote sensing and geographic information system (GIS) for planning of biocrete shrimp ponds development was studied in the coastal area between Opak River and Progo River, Bantul Regency. Analysis of land suitability for biocreteshrimp pond used a multi-scoring of some physical variables, i.e. slope, soil texture, distance from coast line, distance from river, annual rainfall, flooded frequency, and landuse. Spatial analysis used a GIS software (ER Mapper 5.5, ARC/Info 3.5 and ARC/View GIS 3.2). The results showed that suitable land fotbiocreteshrimp pond was 73,6 ha. It found on beach ridge area that was distributed at Srandakan, Sanden, and Kretek Region. However, considered on the Detail Planning of Spatial Arrangement at Southern Coastal of Bantul Regency (RDTK PantaiSelaatnKabupatenBantul) and suistanable aquaculture planning, the development of biocrete shrimp ponds should be limited to 36,8 ha (50%), i.e. 18,4 ha ponds at Srandakan and 18,4 ha ponds at Sanden. Biocrete shrimp ponds had to be built at distance about 300 m from cost line.

Abstract

Ministry of maritime affairs and fisheries (MMAF) has issued guidance on ecosystem approach aquaculture (EAA) as a tool for profitable and sustainable management of aquaculture areas. The Minapolitan area of Klaten district with the superior commodity Tilapia fish has not yet fully implemented EAA. The purpose of this study are: (1) evaluating the management of tilapia fish commodity cultivation areas in Klaten district based on EAA indicators and (2) providing recommendations for interventions to improve the management of tilapia cultivation fishery areas in Klaten district based on EAA indicators. The methods of data analysis used in this study is quantitative analysis using descriptive approach. Data collection uses triangulation techniques where respondents are determined intentionally (purposefully). The study site was in Minapolitan Area 1 (Karanganom, Tulung and Polanharjo) and Minapolitan Area 2 (Ngawen, Kebonarum, and South Klaten) of Klaten regency. The result showed that the management of aquaculture areas with Tilapia as a commodity in Klaten district based on the EAA parameter is in adequate condition with a value of 2.26 for Minapolitan Area 1 and 2.13 for Minapolitan Area 2. Recommendations for interventions are improvements to institutional parameters, monitoring, and evaluation, as well as the role of environmental management in the area.

Abstract

Abstract

The adoption of the Internet of Things (IoT) has transformed aquaculture from manual monitoring into data-driven precision management. This study maps the intellectual structure, publication trends, key contributors, and emerging research directions in IoT-based precision aquaculture, spanning sensor-based monitoring to decision support systems. A bibliometric analysis was conducted on 303 Scopus-indexed documents retrieved using a TITLE-ABS-KEY query combining “Internet of Things” and related terms with “aquaculture.” Document screening followed the PRISMA 2020 protocol. Performance analysis and science mapping were performed using VOSviewer through citation-network and keyword co-occurrence analyses. Because data retrieval occurred during the partial publication year 2026, the compound annual growth rate (CAGR = 19.5%) was calculated only for the complete-year period 2020–2025, while 2026 publications were included in citation and mapping analyses. The dataset accumulated 4,791 citations (mean = 15.81 citations per document; h-index = 38). Sensors was the most productive journal, whereas Indonesia and India were the leading publishing countries. Keyword co-occurrence identified five major research themes: sensor-based water-parameter monitoring, environmental quality monitoring, IoT–machine learning integration, smart fish farming, and AI-based decision support. These findings indicate a shift from environmental monitoring toward intelligent, predictive, and decision-oriented aquaculture management.
