Abstract

Generation Z youth, born from 1995 to 2010, are national assets that need attention, especially regarding their growth and development (Dewi and Ulfah, 2021). Early marriage is a formal or informal marriage where one of the bride and groom is less than 18 years old (Kemen PPPA, 2020). In 2018, an estimated 1,220,900 children were married before the age of 18 (BPS, 2020). This type of research is a quantitative descriptive which was carried out in October 2022. Data was obtained by distributing online questionnaires to respondents (students) at SMAN 1 Ngadiluwih, Kediri, East Java. Univariate data analysis was carried out to determine the frequency and percentage of research variables. There were 236 respondents involved where 51.69% (122 respondents) were able to answer questions correctly. Adolescent knowledge related to early marriage for Generation Z youth at SMAN 1 Ngadiluwih is in the less category, so it needs to be increased by conducting outreach activities and providing information related to early marriage, especially for Generation Z youth.

Abstract

During pregnancy, a lot of preparation is needed, one of which is the diet during pregnancy. Mother's knowledge about good nutrition is expected that the nutritional status of the mother and her baby is also good, with good knowledge of the mother, pregnant women will be able to adjust their food patterns so that the baby can be born normally. This study was to determine the effect of knowledge about the diet of pregnant women on the incidence of LBW in the Working Area of ??the Islamic Boarding School Health Center, Kediri City. The research design used in this study is Prospective Analytic. The population of this study were 30 pregnant women using purposive sampling. Data collection technique with a questionnaire and is the primary data. The collected data was edited, coding, scored and tabulated and then the spearman rank correlation was calculated. From the results of this study, it was found that most of the respondents had less knowledge about diet during pregnancy, namely 14 respondents (46.7%) out of 30 respondents, 16 LBW babies (53.3%) were born from 30 babies born to respondents. This study was supported by statistical tests in which P = 0.039 <0.05 so that Ho was rejected with a correlation rate of 0.600, this means that there is a strong positive influence between knowledge of pregnant women's diet on the incidence of LBW. This is because the mother's lack of knowledge causes the mother's diet to be incorrect so that the baby born will have low birth weight. There is a significant effect of knowledge about diet during pregnancy on the incidence of LBW. Keywords: Mother's knowledge, Diet during pregnancy, Low birth weight babies

Babies who have low birth weight (LBW) are a very complex and complicated problem because they contribute to poor health because they not only cause high mortality rates, but can also cause disability, impairment, or inhibit cognitive growth and development, and chronic diseases. in the future, this is due to the unstable condition of the baby's body. Several studies have shown that LBW greatly determines health in the future. Babies born weighing less than 2500 grams are closely related to degenerative diseases in adulthood. LBW are more prone to obesity and are at risk of suffering from NCD (Non Communicable Diseases) in adulthood, therefore to improve the quality of one's health should be started as early as possible since the fetus is in the womb.
