Abstract

This study aims to compare mental health conditions between students who attend islamic boarding schools and those in public schools that are assessed during the Covid 19 pandemic. It is hoped that using a literature study approach and qualitative methods through open questionnaire techniques and interviews, it will be possible to present a true picture of the mental health situation in both students today. The results showed that students attending boarding schools were more vulnerable to mental health risks compared to students who attended public schools. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused symptoms of PTSD and depression among adolescents aged 16 to 19. This symptom is more commonly experienced by students who attend islamic boarding schools. In general, most respondents are satisfied with online education, but still most students are not comfortable with this new form of learning. The results provide insight into under-researched subjects, helping to highlight potential intervention points to support community mental health programs in the boarding school student population. Abstract

Bullying remains a prevalent issue in elementary school environments and has negative impacts on students’ social-emotional development, academic achievement, and psychological well-being. Based on the needs assessment conducted at SDN Pasilian 01, aggressive behavior among students was still identified, which was influenced by limited understanding of the impacts of bullying and the lack of optimal prevention and intervention strategies implemented by the school. This community service program aimed to implement guidance and counseling services through the Stop Bullying Program to enhance anti-bullying awareness, social skills, and the creation of a safe and inclusive school environment. The program was carried out using a participatory approach through socialization activities, group guidance and counseling services, student mentoring, and collaboration with teachers and parents. Program evaluation was conducted through observations, interviews, and documentation throughout the implementation process. The results indicated an improvement in students’ understanding of bullying, increased participation in anti-bullying discussions, and the development of mutual respect in daily interactions. Furthermore, the program strengthened the collaboration between the school and parents in supporting sustainable bullying prevention efforts. Therefore, the implementation of guidance and counseling services through the Stop Bullying Program can serve as an effective strategy for fostering a safe, supportive, and child-friendly school culture that promotes students’ overall development.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve and compare emotional intelligence between students and students at SDN Margamulya through the implementation of innovative learning media in the form of the Emotional Monopoly game. This media is the work of Fikri Suhardi, a Guidance and Counseling teacher as well as a content creator who focuses on children's character education. The game is designed to help learners recognize, understand, and manage their emotions in a fun and interactive way. The method used in this activity is a quantitative approach with a simple experimental design. Data was collected through emotional intelligence measurement instruments before and after the implementation of the game, then analyzed using an independent sample t-test to determine the significant differences between groups of students and students. The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant difference between the emotional intelligence of students and students after participating in this activity. The average emotional intelligence score of female students reached 7.90, while students obtained an average of 6.50. These findings indicate that female students have a higher and more stable level of emotional intelligence than students after participating in the Emotional Monopoly game. This activity not only contributes to improving the emotional aspects of students, but also shows the great potential of educational game media as an effective means of social-emotional learning at the elementary school level. Therefore, it is recommended that similar games can be integrated more widely in learning activities and guidance and counseling services in schools.
