Abstract

This type of research is cross sectional, this study aims to determine the factors that influence the occurrence of rheumatoid arthritis in the elderly at Pematangsiantar Public Health Center. The subjects of this study were the elderly with a sample of 99 respondents. Data collection tools are questionnaires to answer questions and observation sheets. Rheumatoid arthritis is a disorder in the form of stiffness, swelling, pain and redness in the joints and surrounding tissues. Joint sufferers around the world have reached the number, especially in Indonesia, rheumatoid arthritis reaches 23.6% to 31.3%. This figure shows that the incidence of rheumatoid arthritis is high. There are several factors that influence the occurrence of rheumatoid arthritis in the elderly, namely, genetics, obesity, food and activity/work. This genetic factor influences the occurrence of rheumatoid arthritis in the elderly at Pematangsiantar Public Health Center. The highest frequency which has the highest genetic factor is 12 respondents (12.1%) and the lowest frequency is 87 respondents (87.9%). Obesity factors affect the occurrence of rheumatoid arthritis in the elderly at Pematangsiantar Public Health Center 29 respondents (29%) and the lowest is 70 respondents (70.0%) but affects the incidence of rheumatic arthritis in the elderly. Food factors that influence the occurrence of rheumatoid arthritis have the highest frequency with 86 respondents (86.3%) and the lowest frequency is 13 respondents (13.1%). Activity/occupation factors influence the occurrence of rheumatoid arthritis in the elderly with the highest frequency 76 respondents (76.8%) and the lowest 23 respondents (23 respondents)

Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis is one of the infectious diseases that is a world health problem because approximately 1/3 of the world's population is infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. TB attacks the lungs, but it can also attack other organs of the body. The source of transmission is pulmonary TB patients with smear (+) which can infect other people. Through the DOTS (Directly Observed Treatment Short-Course) strategy implemented by the Provincial Health Office on the TB Program at the Martoba Health Center, Pematangsiantar City, it was reported that, for 3 consecutive years (2014 - 2016). In 2014 there were 533 cases, in 2015 there was an increase of 535 cases and in 2016 it increased again to 574 cases. Researchers conducted a direct survey to see the conditions and conducted brief interviews with 2 (two) people with TB. The results of interviews and surveys found that there were several factors related to the incidence of TB based on nutritional status, smoking habits and household contacts at the Martoba Public Health Center, Pematangsiantar City in 2019. There was a significant relationship between nutritional status and the incidence of pulmonary TB disease. Based on the Chi-Square test at a significant level of 0.05, p = 0.000 was obtained. There is a significant relationship between smoking habits and the incidence of pulmonary TB disease. Based on the Chi-Square test at a significant level of 0.005, p = 0.000 was obtained. There is a significant relationship between a history of household contact with the incidence of pulmonary TB disease. Based on the Chi-Square test at a significant level of 0.05, p = 0.021 means that there is a significant relationship between a history of household contact with the incidence of pulmonary TB disease.

Abstract

Diarrhea is a condition where the frequency of bowel movements is more than 4 (four) times in infants and more than 3 (three) times in children. occurs as a result of a person's lack of information or knowledge. This research was conducted in the Pamatang Raya Public Health Center, Simalungun Regency from August to September 2018, a sample size of 71 people using quantitative methods that are analytic through a cross-sectional approach. Data collection using secondary data was analyzed using the bivariate chi-square test. The results showed that in the good knowledge category as many as 15 people (21.1%), sufficient knowledge 26 people (36.6), less knowledge 30 people (42.3), negative attitudes as many as 47 people (66.2%), positive attitudes as many as 24 (33.4), good mother behavior as many as 26 people (36.6), less behavior as many as 30 people (42.3%). The conclusion of the study is that there is a relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of mothers on diarrheal diseases in toddlers at Pematang Raya Public Health Center.
