Abstract

Permulaan Miosen, Burdigalian-Tortonian (zona NN 2-NN 10) ditandai pemunculan awal Helicosphaera kamptnerihingga pemunculan awal Discoaster quinqueramus. Zona NN11 yang berumur Tortonian-Messinian ditandai pemunculan awal hingga pemunculan akhir Discoaster quinqueramus. Zona NN12-NN15 (Messinian-Zanclean) ditandai pemunculan awal hingga pemunculan akhir Discoaster pansus.

Abstract

This study examines the inversion modelling of one-dimensional Schlumberger configuration resistivity data using the Very Fast Simulated Annealing (VFSA). Detailed identification and mapping of aquifer conditions is very important for the sustainable development of groundwater resources in an area. Vertical electrical sounding (VES) and surface electrical resistivity surveys have proven very useful for studying groundwater due to their simplicity and cost effectiveness. Global optimization inversion method also provides an inversion solution that is not expected to be trapped in a local minimum solution, so that it will get results that are closer to the actual situation. The VFSA method is inspired by phenomena in metallurgy related to the formation of crystals in materials caused by thermodynamic processes. This inversion scheme was tested initially with free noise synthetic data and with noise 5%. Furthermore, the program is applied to field data that has been measured in Ambon City, Maluku, Indonesia. The results of the VFSA inversion on field data obtained four layers consisting of top soil (141.2 ± 0,61 m) with a thickness of 1.43 m, andesite breccia rock (355.90 ± 0.46 m) with a thickness of 4 m, lapilli tuff (93.40 ± 0.31 m) with 30 m thick, then the last is the coarse tuff layer (34.30 ± 0.15 m) which is estimated as an aquifer.

Abstract

Kata Kunci: Palinologi, Perubahan Iklim, Cekungan Bentarsari, Palinomorf, Formasi Tapak Abstract – Abstract – Pollen and spore analysis has carried out on 20 samples taken from vertical outcrops on the surface of the Tapak Formation in the Bentarsari area. This study aims to reconstruct climate change based on palynology data during the Late Pliocene in the Tapak Formation when deposited in the Bentarsari Basin. Based on the sample analysis that has been carried out, 30 types of Arboreal Pollen/AP groups were obtained, 11 kinds of Non-Arboreal Pollen/NAP groups, 28 types of Pteridophyta/Spora groups, and found seven types of other palynomorph groups such as zoomorphs and phytoplankton. The presence of Podocarpus imbricatus in the lower part of the sample and the late appearance of Stenochlaenidites papuanus in the upper part indicate that the Tapak Formation in the study area is Late Pliocene. There are at least five crucial event intervals related to climate change. Of all the climate change event intervals, the climate in the study area is dominated by a warmer and more humid environment. This is supported by the high number of Arboreal Pollen/AP group types and Pteridophyta/Spora group types study area. Keywords: Palynology, Climate Change, Bentarsari Basin, Palinomorph, Tapak Formation

Abstract

The goal of this research is to obtain information related to aquifer quality, including aquifer protection capacity, transmissivity, and aquifer thickness based on vertical electrical sounding (VES) data and Dar-Zarrouk parameter analysis. The research area is located in Leihitu District, Ambon with 8 measurement points. The Leihitu region is included in the geological map of the Ambon sheet, Maluku, which consists of Late Pliocene - Holocene lithology, specifically Ambon volcanic rocks, reef limestones, and alluvial deposits. The rock resistivity measurements and layer thickness information were obtained using the VES method and analyzed with IP2WIN software. Based on VES data, aquifer properties were identified using Dar-Zarrouk parameters. That parameter consisted of longitudinal conductance, transfer resistance, longitudinal resistivity, and transfer resistivity. Longitudinal unit conductance is applied to evaluate the protective capacity class of the aquifer, the transfer resistance is beneficial for analyzing rock type and aquifer transmissivity. Based on the Dark-Zarrouk parameters, the longitudinal conductance (S) ranged from 0.0278 to 5.1213 mho and was classified as moderate to good protective capacity. The high S value results from a thick layer of clay at the observation point. This area also has a high enough transverse resistance (T) and then if related to aquifer transmissivity, this area is classified as a good transmissivity aquifer, especially at VES 2, VES 5, VES 6, VES 7, and VES 8. If correlated to rock formations, areas with limestone and volcanic rocks have better transmissivity than areas with alluvial deposits.

Abstract

A community service initiative was conducted in Assilulu Village, Central Maluku Regency, aimed at assessing the quality of groundwater used by the local community through physical and chemical parameter testing. Residents rely on groundwater from dug wells and springs as their primary sources for drinking and sanitation, often without knowledge of its quality or safety. Key challenges include potential contamination from seawater intrusion and domestic activities, alongside low public awareness regarding the importance of periodic water quality testing. Consequently, a targeted program involving active partner participation was implemented, comprising public outreach, water sampling, groundwater level (GWL) analysis, laboratory testing, and training on the use of simple water quality testing tools. Physical parameters analyzed included temperature, odor, and total dissolved solids (TDS), while chemical parameters included pH, salinity, CN, PO₄³⁻, SO₄²⁻, K⁺, Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺, Na⁺, Cl⁻, and Mn. Test results were evaluated against drinking water quality standards set by the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 2 of 2023. The study revealed that most groundwater sources in Assilulu Village met drinking water quality standards; however, elevated levels of TDS, Na⁺, and Cl⁻ were observed at Location 1, Location 5, and an old well, indicating seawater intrusion. The initiative resulted in increased community knowledge regarding clean water management and the availability of physical and chemical data; furthermore, partners gained proficiency in using portable water testing equipment, enabling them to continuously monitor the quality of the water they use.
