Abstract

Groundwater exists in a Groundwater Basin (CAT). In a CAT the groundwater process start by enters of the waters (recharge), flows and then exits (discharge). This process is largely controlled by geological factors, the recharge area in a CAT holds an important factor in groundwater management. There are several parameters that will affect the characteristics of a CAT recharge area, which are graduation of rocks, rainfall, soil cover, slope, and unconfined ground water level (Attachment to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation No. 31 of 2018). The five parameters are the basis for this research to study the characteristics of the recharge area through the assessment and weighting method and overlapping to obtain certain values. Bandung Regency and its surroundings from hydrological conditions have high rainfall and are dominated by volcanic rocks that can pass and store water (Sugianti et al., 2016). So it is interesting to examine the characteristics of the recharge area, the results of which can also be used as material for the location of Field Work Practices (PKL). The results of the analysis of the 5 (five) parameters are the conductivity value is in low groups, based on the results of precipitation data analysis, the study area is divided into 2 (two) regions, namely areas with rainfall that have a value of 1000 - 2000 mm / year and areas that have low rainfall <1000 mm / year. The results of the analysis of the soil cover parameters of the study area are divided into 2 (two) groups, with a value of 12 and a group with a weight value of 9, the results of the analysis of the slope parameters obtained by 3 (three) groups, namely regions with values slope <500 , 50 0– 1000 and 100 0– 200 0. Based on the unconfined water table (MAT) parameters in the study area, they are grouped into 2 (two) groups, namely the medium group with a weight value of 2 having a MAT depth between 5 - 10m and a low group with a value of 1 having a depth of MAT <5m. Based on the analysis of the recharge value, the South Bandung area has 3 (three) grounwater recharge areas, namely the main recharge area with a recharge value >33, additional reharge area with a recharge value 30-33, and the affixed area with a recharge value < 30. Main recharge area with value > 33 which is spread in the area around Soreang, Situ Cileunca, and part of Rancaekek is an area that has the potential for groundwater catchment.

Abstract

Ciwidey is an area in the southern part of Bandung regency that has the potential for abundant natural resources, there is the potential for nature tourism, plantations, agriculture, geothermal, and if all the potential resources used maximally that will help development in Bandung regency and Ciwidey area especially. Average rainfall in the southern part of Bandung Metropolitan is 1500-4500 mm / yr, while the highest rainfall (3000-4500 mm / yr) is in the Southwest, namely in the magnification areas, such as Mount Patuha, Mount Powo, Mount Sumbul and Mount Kuda. This condition is interesting to be studied for the determination of Local Meteoric Water Line (LMWL). The method for determining LMWL is based on the analysis results of the stable isotope composition of 18O and 2H because rainwater isotopes have unique characteristics that are valued differently at each elevation. Rainwater sampling was carried out in 4 (four) different places, namely Ciwidey KUD with a height of 1114m above sea level (asl), Alamendah Village (1300m asl), Rancawalini (1770m asl) and Mount Patuha (1948m asl). The results of the stable isotope analysis of rainwater produce the local air meteoric equation in Ciwidey and its surroundings, namely δ2H = 7.55 δ18O + 12.06with R2= 0.990. This LMWL line equation can be used as a standard for determine recharge areawhich is very useful for groundwater management or geothermal management in Ciwidey area.

Abstract

Igneus rocks in the area Cisampih are only a small hillocks that covering about 1.5 hectares in the Citatah hills which is famous for limestones mining and marble. This mining also penetrated to some small hills of igneous rock,so its appearance as a dike through nearby rocks becomes clearer, as well as its burning effects. The altered part of limestone into marble in this area is interpreted as a result of this intrusion. The research was conducted by using geological mapping method, to know the lateral or vertical spread of existing rock outcrops, and to know the connection between the rocks. Petrographic analysis was conducted to determine the mineralogy composition of the rock, its function to name the rock type in more detail. The result of the research shows that the research area is composed by claystone which is crushed by limestone and the claystone are extruded by igneous rock but it doesn’t break through the limestone. This situation makes the area to be more attractive at least for field work practice trainees, geology students excursion, because it is supported by its relatively easy accessibility and close to Bandung city.
