Abstract

Abstrak. Penggunaan mulsa organik merupakan salah satu metode pengendalian gulma dan dapat meningkatkan hasil kedelai.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh beberapa jenis mulsa terhadap pertumbuhan gulma pada tanaman kedelai. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan dan Laboratorium Pengelolaan Gulma, Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Syiah Kuala, Darussalam Banda Aceh, dari Agustus sampai November  2021. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) pola non faktorial dengan 3 ulangan. Faktor yang diteliti terdiri dari kontrol (tanpa mulsa), mulsa jerami padi, kirinyuh, sekam padi, serbuk gergaji dan mulsa plastik hitam perak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jenis mulsa organik berpengaruh terhadap jenis gulma, individu gulma, bobot kering gulma dan laju tinggi tanaman. Mulsa plastik hitam perak dan mulsa sekam padi dapat menurunkan jenis gulma, individu gulma, bobot kering gulma dan meningkatkan laju tinggi tanaman.Application of several types of mulch to weed  control  in soybean (Glycine max L.)Abstract. The use of organic mulch is one of the weed control methods that can increase soybean yields. This study aims to determine the effect of several types of mulch on the growth of weeds in soybean plants. This research was conducted at the Experimental Garden and Weed Management Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University, Darussalam Banda Aceh, from August to November 2021. This study used a non-factorial randomized completely block design (RCBD) with 3 replications. The factors studied consisted of control (without mulch), rice straw mulch, kirinyuh, rice husks, sawdust and silver black plastic mulch. The results showed that the type of organic mulch had an effect on the type of weed, individual weeds, dry weight of weeds and plant height rate. The Silver black plastic mulch and rice husk mulch could decreased weed types, individual weeds, dry weight of weeds and increase plant height.
