Abstract

This text contains many values of sublime teachings that must be used as guidelines by sulinggih candidates or sulinggih in carrying out swadharma to serve the community, especially in the spiritual field. Before serving the people, a sulinggih must prepare himself thoroughly and master sadhana, sesana, wariga, yoga, brata and jñana. The mastery of this knowledge will greatly determine the ideal quality as a sulinggih who is used as a role model and protector of humanity. This study aims to reduce the text, describe the content of the text and translate it freely into Indonesian. For people who do not know how to read and write Balinese script, it will be easier to understand. In addition, this research reveals the concept of the ideal wiku including, Right Purpose, Choosing a Teacher, Yoga, Putusing Aji. To achieve this goal, the method used is the method of Data Collection, Data Analysis, Presentation of Research Results. This research is a literature research with the object of study of Kidung Cowak manuscripts that researchers found from the storage of private collections of the Lombok community. There are several considerations for researchers to reveal this Kidung Cowak manuscript as follows: (1) Kidung Cowak manuscripts are not well known in the community. (2) To the best of the researcher's knowledge, the manuscript of Kidung Cowak has not been studied philologically. (3) Kidung Cowak manuscript contains many teachings about sublimity which are still relevant as a reference and guideline for sulinggih candidates and those who have become sulinggih.

Abstract

Social change and the dynamics of modernity pose challenges to the sustainability of character values among the younger generation, including within religious communities rooted in local traditions. Although studies on Hindu upbringing have expanded, research specifically examining the communal dimensions of upbringing in Lombok’s Hindu society and its connection to the formation of a sustainable generation remains limited. This study aims to analyze communal dharma upbringing as a socio-religious practice of the Lombok Hindu community in shaping the character of a sustainable generation. The study employs a qualitative, descriptive-analytical design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentary analysis within Hindu communities in West Lombok, Central Lombok, North Lombok, and the city of Mataram. Research findings indicate that communal dharma-based parenting is carried out through the collective involvement of families, banjars, temples, and pasramans, with values internalized through practice via role modeling, ritual participation, ngayah, and communal work. Hindu values such as dharma, Tri Kaya Parisudha, Tri Hita Karana, bhakti, ahimsa, and yadnya are internalized in children’s daily experiences and shape a character encompassing spiritual, social, personal, and ecological dimensions. This study concludes that communal dharma parenting is a community-based value-transmission system relevant to the character formation of future generations and has the potential to serve as a reference for developing culture- and religion-based parenting models within the context of sustainable human development.

Abstract

This community service activity titled Punia Bhakti Rsi Yadnya was implemented by IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram on January 15, 2026, as part of the Siwaratri sacred day celebration. The activity aimed to manifest the Rsi Yadnya teaching, one of the Panca Yadnya in Hinduism, by paying homage to six Sulinggih (Hindu holy persons) in the Lombok region. The methods used include preparation, joint worship, group division, visits to Griya, presentation of parsel as Punia Bhakti, and receiving spiritual guidance. The results showed that 100% of the targets were achieved, with parsel successfully distributed to six Sulinggih and the strengthening of harmonious relations between higher education and Hindu religious figures. The satisfaction survey of 68 respondents indicated a very high satisfaction level, with 97.1% strongly agreeing that the theme aligns with Hindu values and 97.1% recommending this activity to the wider community. This activity contributed to achieving SDGs-2030 goals (Goal 1 and Goal 17) and supported the Asta Protas of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, particularly the pillars of Impactful Religious Services and Increasing Harmony and Love for Humanity.
