Abstract

Pandemi akibat COVID-19 berdampak pada bidang pendidikan di Indonesia hingga membuat tantangan tersendiri untuk mahasiswa, khususnya bagi mereka yang sedang mengerjakan skripsi sebagai salah satu ketentuan untuk menjadi sarjana. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memahami keterkaitan kepercayaan diri dalam kemampuan membaca dan menulis, persepsi dukungan dosen pembimbing pada mahasiswa dalam proses penyelesaian skripsi, juga kesiapan melakukan pembelajaran daring dengan resiliensi akademik mahasiswa yang sedang mengerjakan tugas akhir skripsi di masa pandemi COVID-19. Partisipan pada penelitian ini berjumlah 238 mahasiswa yang sedang mengerjakan tugas akhir skripsi di Indonesia. Metode penelitian dengan cross sectional survey dan data yang didapat dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi Rank Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepercayaan diri dalam menulis dan membaca, dukungan dosen pembimbing, dan kesiapan pembelajaran daring memiliki hubungan yang positif dan signifikan terhadap resiliensi akademik, dimensi self-directed learning online pada variabel kesiapan pembelajaran daring dan dimensi merefleksikan dan mencari bantuan adaptif pada variabel resiliensi akademik berkorelasi paling kuat diantara seluruh dimensi dan variabel lainnya pada mahasiswa yang sedang mengerjakan skripsi di masa pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian selanjutnya disarankan untuk dapat melihat lebih jauh besaran kontribusi pada kepercayaan diri dalam membaca dan menulis, dukungan dosen pembimbing, dan kesiapan pembelajaran daring terhadap resiliensi akademik, kemudian disarankan pula untuk mengeksplorasi faktor internal dan eksternal lainnya pada resiliensi akademik dan dengan populasi dan kondisi yang lebih spesifik, serta melakukan psikoedukasi dan pelatihan untuk mahasiswa dan dosen pembimbing berorientasikan hasil penelitian ini.

Abstract

There is evidence that intolerance of uncertainty (IU) is associated with difficulty experiencing positive emotions such as happiness. There is a scarcity of research examining the relations between IU and Happiness during and after the covid-19 pandemic. We examined the degree to which IU predicts Happiness of young adults. This research was conducted using data from 555 participants, age 18 to 35 (SD = 3.34, M = 22.96). Data collected using the online questionnaire used will be created using items derived from two measuring instruments or scales that have been adapted by translating the scale items from English into Indonesian. IU was measured using 12 items the Intolerance for Uncertainty Scale (2 dimensions) from Shihata, McEvoy, and Mullan (2018). The Oxford Happiness Questionnaire (5 dimensions, 29 items) was used to measure happiness. As predicted, IU corelates and predicted happiness. The correlation test between dimensions shows that overall happiness has significant positive correlation with both dimension of IU. On the other hand, the total IU score did not correlate significantly with the life satisfaction dimension of happiness.

Abstract

People suffering from chronic diseases such as breast cancer and heart disease usually feel they have low life expectancy. Gratitude skills considered to be one of factors that could increase the hope for life and promoting the recovery of patients with chronic diseases. To prove this assumption, research was conducted to prove whether gratitude training could increase hope for life in adult patients with breast cancer and heart diseases. This research used a quasi-experimental method randomized two groups (control and experiment) pretest-posttest design, following the gratitude research procedures conducted by Bahar & Moordiningsih on heart disease in 2020. This research involved 32 (21 females, 11 males) with the age range from 30 to 61 years old (Mean = 49.50, SD = 8,474). Participants in this study were divided into two groups consisting of 14 participants in the experimental group (7 with breast cancer, 7 with heart disease) and 18 participants in the control group (9 with breast cancer, 9 with heart disease). The research results showed gratitude training is effective in improving hope for life. The findings also revealed that participants with heart disease experienced a higher effect of gratitude training than participants with breast cancer.
