Abstract

CV. ABC is a manufacturing industry producing songkok that serves nine regular customers across East Java and Madura. Currently, the company faces transportation cost inefficiencies due to the implementation of a rigid zone-based distribution system. This condition leads to suboptimal fleet capacity utilization and inflated travel distances, resulting in total transportation costs of Rp3,486,700 per delivery period. This study aims to determine a more optimal distribution route to minimize travel distance and identify concrete cost savings comparisons.  The method employed in this research is the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) using a Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) mathematical model approach. The data processing and search for the optimal route were executed using Python software via the Google Colab platform. The research results indicate that the proposed route successfully reduced the total distribution distance from 2,026 km to 1,234 km, equivalent to a distance saving of 39%. Furthermore, significant financial efficiency was achieved, where total monthly operational expenditures decreased from Rp45,574,150 to Rp32,234,850.

Abstract

CV. XYZ is a K300 paving block manufacturer in Sidoarjo that produces five types of products (rectangular, square, hexagonal, three-dimensional, and bishop-shaped) using a make-to-stock system. Differences in demand levels across products lead to inventory imbalances, resulting in some products being at risk of stockouts while others accumulate in excess. This study applies the Run Out Time (ROT) method to determine production priorities and develop a daily production schedule, using actual demand data from May 2024 to April 2026. The results show that ROT produces a dynamic priority sequence, with the most consistent order being: 3-Dimensional/Hexagonal, Square, Rectangular, and Bishop. This method effectively prevents stockouts for all products throughout the 12 planning periods (May 2026–April 2027).

Abstract

This study was conducted to address the issue of textile product distribution at PT XYZ, which lacks optimal delivery routes, resulting in high mileage and long distribution times. The objective of this study is to determine the optimal distribution routes using the Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem with Time Windows (CVRPTW) method. The study was conducted using customer demand data, vehicle capacity, distance matrix, travel time matrix, service time, and customer service time limits. A mathematical model was developed using the Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) approach and simulated using Google Colab with the assistance of the Python programming language and the PuLP Solver software. The results show that the CVRPTW method is capable of generating a more optimal distribution route compared to the company’s existing route, with a reduction in total travel distance from 5,466 km to 3,155 km and a reduction in total distribution time from 4,755 minutes to 3,093 minutes. The results indicate that the application of CVRPTW can improve distribution efficiency by reducing travel distance and distribution time.

Abstract

Production machine productivity is an important factor in supporting the effectiveness and efficiency of manufacturing production systems. PT XYZ experienced unstable productivity, high downtime, production losses, and product defects on the Koenig & Bauer Sheetfed (KBA) machine, which affected production performance and maintenance costs. Therefore, productivity analysis and a structured preventive maintenance system were required to improve machine reliability. This study aims to measure machine productivity using the Objective Matrix (OMAX) method, identify the causes of low productivity through Statistical Quality Control (SQC), Fishbone Diagram, and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and determine preventive maintenance recommendations using Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM). The research data included production output, downtime, operating time, labor, energy consumption, and component failure data from July–December 2025.The results showed that the productivity index fluctuated during the observation period, with the highest productivity index reaching 31.89% in October 2025. The dominant causes of low productivity originated from machine conditions, work methods, and production quality. Based on FMEA and RCM analysis, the critical components identified were brush feeding, roller printing, and register wire rope. Preventive maintenance intervals were determined using Weibull distribution, Mean Time To Failure (MTTF), and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) analysis. The implementation of RCM-based preventive maintenance reduced maintenance costs by 74.98%, from IDR 79,750,000 to IDR 19,950,000, while also reducing downtime and improving the operational stability of the KBA machine at PT XYZ.

Abstract

Mie Paus Restaurant operates through both offline and online sales channels, creating fluctuating demand patterns that affect perishable raw material inventory requirements. Demand uncertainty increases the risk of stockouts and overstock situations, which may disrupt production activities. This study aims to analyze perishable inventory control and propose an inventory policy using the Periodic Review System. The data include product demand from July–December 2025, Bill of Material (BOM), lead time, and inventory records. The research stages consist of demand aggregation from offline and online channels, demand forecasting, BOM-based material requirement planning, and inventory parameter calculations. The results indicate that the Moving Average (MA-3) method is the most accurate forecasting model with MAD of 80.11, MSE of 11,990.11, and MAPE of 4.35%, generating a January 2026 demand forecast of 5,684 portions. The proposed Periodic Review System results in a 7-day review period, a 95% service level, safety stocks of 42 eggs, 1 kg of chicken skin, 11 bundles of mustard greens, and 520 portions of noodle dough. The target inventory levels are 167 eggs, 2 kg of chicken skin, 20 bundles of mustard greens, and 1,873 portions of noodle dough. The proposed approach provides a more structured and data-driven inventory control system compared with the company’s current practice.
