Abstract

Course management system developed by University of Atma Jaya Makassar is providing an environment for course interactions within the classroom. One such interaction is attendance process done by the lecturer in the classroom. In this research, a camera-based attencance system is applied to a handheld device with facial recognition algorithm. The method used in this research is to do face recognition using a camera on a tablet PC so that students who can be recognized by their faces, can be declared present and stored data in the Course Management System (STKP).

Abstract

Security is a supporting factor in creating order and stability in the social environment. The issue of environmental security is related to efforts made to avoid and overcome criminal acts in society and now thanks to the advancement of information and communication technology, the function of safeguarding and controlling the environment can be supported by the help of technology to facilitate human work. The security system developed is supported by digital image processing software to process snapshot and recorded images from system cameras with the aim of improving the quality of visual images for the sake of analysis and digital forensic evidence that can be used in law enforcement related to criminal acts. The end result is a product innovation security system that can be utilized by the community in various needs related to security and supervision activities.

Abstract

Knowledge has become an important asset, capital and resource in organizations. This is especially true for a higher education institution. Higher education institution can be said to be an organization whose assets are dominated by knowledge, whether it is attached to the teachers (which are tacit) or codified. Tacit Knowledge and explicit knowledge in the academic process owned by the Faculty of Information Technology Atma Jaya Makassar University has not stored and managed properly. This research focus on how to design a model of Knowledge Management System in the academic process so that model becomes a picture of the KMS in accordance with the needs of FTI to manage their knowledge and the design results of KMS model can be implemented in the future.
